HTFU:  Acronym for Harden the F____ Up

HTFU 100:  A 3 or 6 man, 100 mile relay that will require all runners to HTFU.  11,000+ feet of elevation gain that starts at the bottom of a hill, includes a lap up and down Hibriten Mountain, goes through some of the most remote terrain in the Wilson Creek wilderness as well as portions of The Bear in Linville and the Grandfather Marathon in reverse as well as just about every hill we could find in between.

Disclaimers will be made.  Safety will be a high priority so you are required to use reflector vests and headlamps during the dark hours.  Volunteers will not be at exchange zones.  This will be completely self supported.  Each team is on the honor system and will have to keep up with their own times at the EZ as well as show proof of times on Map My Run, Strava, or Garmin Connect.

Date:  March 14th, 2020.

Start Time:  5:00 am

There are no medals at the finish and you won’t get a free shirt for registering or a mug for being faster than me and my teammates.  You will get a pat on the back as well as a sense of accomplishment that you and your teammates just completed what is likely the hardest relay race in North Carolina.

Check it out here:  https://www.strava.com/routes/17897413

For 6 man teams, each runner will have approximately 18 miles spread over 3 legs.  Leg assignments to come.

If you’re brave enough to try this with 3 runners, I trust you can figure out the math.

Cost:  $0.00.

Yes, $0.00.  In the same spirit that makes F3 so great, we are not going to charge you a dime.  The only requirement is that your team will be expected to use this race as a vehicle to raise at least $1,000 for your favorite charity.  We will be sending out ideas as time for registration draws closer to assist.  Simplest method would be to have your team receive pledges on a Dollar Per Mile basis.

Can.  Not.  Wait.
