Great title, C Ed.
Thanks.
Howdy men and greetings from F3Hickory’s website. Ain’t it a beauty?
Couple of 1st F items for discussion. Feel free to read, completely gloss over, and/or provide any feedback you feel necessary. Except you. And you over there in corner.
Thanksgiving Convergence:
If you’re in town on Thanksgiving Day, why not get up and post? Let’s have ourselves a lil convergence. Stay tuned for details on the what and where but mark it on your calendars, 11/22.
Site Q’s
Are you a Site Q? Have you been a Site Q for a while now….say for longer than 18 months? Remember that F3 is not mine. It’s not yours. We need to give this thing away. Pass on that shovel flag and give it away and do something else? Can’t find someone else that will take that shovel flag? Let ole Cousin Eddie know and I’ll find you someone.
While we’re on the subject of Site Q’s, please remember to bring AND plant your shovel flag before the workout starts. Have you ever posted to another AO outside of our region? If so, have you noticed something in common w/ all of those AO’s? That’s right, they all have a shovel flag. A shovel flag serves as a beacon to FNGs, Pax from out of town, etc. and makes a group of strangers milling around aimlessly look a lot less creepy to an FNG, or out of town Pax.
Backblasts. Again? Yes.
I decided to use this format to write my portion of the newsletter to remind all Pax that we still provide you with the ability to write a backblast. This is so simple folks. It’s free. It’s fun. Come on…you know who else doesn’t write BB’s? Here’s a quick list:
- Dudes at Curves
- Sad Clowns
- Dudes that still use a wallet chain
- Dudes that Run in 1″ inseams
Please fellas, it really isn’t that hard and it serves as a great way to remember what you did on a certain morning. It’s also a good way to see your name in lights, track your workouts, etc etc. I can hear it now, “but Cousin Eddie, back in the day it was so much more fun/better/easier/cooler when we could post our backblasts on F3Nation’s site and read all BB’s from all regions.”
You know what else was cool back in the day?
- Zune
- Napster
- Model T’s (you’re welcome, Squints)
- Buggy Whips
Write it. You know you want to. It’s good for the soul.
CSAUP
Folks are racking up on CSAUP points. 30’ish Pax just posted at the Sim’s 5K/Mud Run. Some are gearing up for the Tuna200. There are still 12 Saturdays left in 2018 to compete and qualify for your chance to win some sweet sweet prizes. Just remember to email: hootbowman@yahoo.com with the details so I write it down….yes, I’m talking to you Doughboy. I remember you did the Mud Run, but so did 29 other dudes: No Email. No Points.
Looking out into 2019, I’d say that there’s a big ole chance that the New Year’s Day Hibriten Mountain Run will take place on 1/1/19. Last year it was about 9 degrees. Taking name suggestions for this race. So far, the winner is the Frozen Snot 10K. Got a better one? Holla at your boy and start your year off right and join us.
Also, start planning your 2019 events. Lots of relays, rucks, ruckin’ relays, and races out there for the taking.
