QIC:  Markup

The Ruck ‘N’ Roll constants decided to sign up for an event in January.  This event will actually consist of 2 events starting Friday, January 18th in Atlanta and will end on Saturday evening.  We will begin at 9:00 pm and then the first event (Tough) will end 10-12 hours later after we have rucked 15-20 miles. Hopefully we will have a few hours to rest, eat, and get cleaned up but you never know what will happen.  We will then come back together at 2:00 in the afternoon to Ruck another 7-10 miles in 4-5 hours.  To say this is a #CSAUP event is to not give this GORUCK event enough credit.

Enough of the backstory…… since we have 14-17 hours and upwards of 30+ miles to Ruck we decided to head to South Mountain to train on some trails and get a little distance/time under our belt.  We rucked 10.5 miles in a little of 4 hours.  The weather was nice but it got breezy at times and once the sun started to drop behind the mountains you could feel the temperature drop pretty quickly.  We saw several deer while rucking and were even able to see Charlotte from one of the spots.  The good thing is we had a great time and got better and stronger.  Some people may think rucking is stupid or don’t think it is a good workout but I know it is challenging and the fellowship is great.  If you want to learn more about it then let us know or meet us at LRU football stadium on a Friday.  No pack, no problem.  Come walk with us or let us know and you can borrow one.
