So YHC was torn as to what to do this morning at RAM. Since its the first RAM of the year YHC considered 1st RAM/ Worst RAM and repeating one of the toughest RAM workouts I had been to in the last year. The one that came to mind was when Abe’s son I believe it was came to Q and also happened to be when the Flaming Cropduster was born. That one started with 50 burpees oyo and if you were there (minus two of you of course), you know the rest. That workout would have been right up YHC’s alley considering my affinity for the burpee, but instead since there are so many pax training for relays we went with a more mileage focused workout instead.
YHC is a bit of a 1 trick pony when it comes to leaving campus because of my unfamiliarity with the greater hky area, in the dark, as that is where most of my time in hky is spent……in the dark….with a bunch of dudes. YHC is solid with the pre-run route so thats where we went with it…and here’s how it went…
Warmorama (literally and figuratively cause it was 2 hour delay kinda cold!!)
SSH, Highish knees, Humpys….and we’re off.
Pre run route down to the square and site of Howitzer. Made the Igloo loop on the first round after 10 burpees and rinsed and repeated with a slightly shorter loop after the first loop almost cost the FUnicorns a possible teammate when Powder almost went down with and ankle injury. He’s OK though because he had 15 layers on so there wasn’t much bend going on in the ankles anyways. (Insert image of Ralphy’s little brother from A Christmas Story unable to put his arms down here) Modified BIPB’s with a lap in between each one. BIPB=Burpees, Imperial storm Troopers, Plank Jacks, and Burpees…10 Each I think, maybe more, it was cold.
Left the square and headed to the cemetery via the aforementioned pre run route. Stopped at the bottom of the hill, 10 squats and then back up to first street lamp and back. Headed up to Frye hill, stop at the top for 10 merkins and then oyo pace back to the flag, ended up around 4 miles in all.
As always it was YHC’s pleasure…
Patti OUT!!
