YHC can’t tell you how much joy it brings to write this backblast!!  The birth of an AO less than 3 minutes away from the house is an amazing and an unusual feeling.  Not having to leave the house at 4:35 to get to a 5:00ish pre-run was pretty fantastic.  YHC apologizes for the tardiness of the backblast.  Apparently the wifi at YHC’s place of employment deems this web site as unsecure so it isn’t accessible there. But YHC digresses so here we go….

Several pax out for the inaugural pre run of the Tower. Initial Pre run route is basically a 1.6 mile loop around the AO done twice.  First time past, no cars in parking lot…YHC brushes it off, says it’s still early, but is terrified on the inside that the AO is gonna flop and no one will show; need to appear confident for newer pre running PAX so laughs it off and continues conversation.  Toward the end of 2nd lap, see a jeep in the school parking lot….YHC approaches with his hands up in a cautious manner. Says he’s F3 and is lost, try to give him directions, guess he didn’t hear me right, turns too soon, ends up on other side of AO…but he found us.  That was a moral boost, especially since YHC didn’t know him so that meant he was from a different region…..promising.  Come rolling up on parking lot….LOTS OF CARS!!! Lots of PAX, several FNG’s….made YHC’s heart happy!!

First activity were Mount High Lows, in honor of the 3 Year Anniversary.

Mosey to the top parking lot for a little DORA, with a partner.

50 merkins

100 lunges

150 LBC’s

While one partner works, the other jogs to the streetlight, does 5 star jumps, and comes back. Plank for 6.

Mosey to lower area by the football field. Grab a rock. Curls, OHP, KB swings, Passing rock to right every exercise. Rocks back, short mosey to bottom row of stone bleachers.

In cadence; Incline Merkins, tricep dips, decline merkins.  One lap around track.

End up at bottom of hill…groups of 3

P-ull ups, M-erkins, S-quats…get it? Groups of 3; pax 1-merkins, pax2-squats, pax 3 up the hill, across black top and does 5 pull ups.  Upon return they rotate until each pax has done the pull ups.

Mosey to front of school, line up on side walk by 70…monkey humpers of course.

Mosey to upper playground for asheville abs. Mosey back to flag for 6 flutter kicks to take us to 6:15.

COT, Naming 5 FNG’s…all good stuff!!

Mole Skin:

  • YHC is very grateful to all of the PAX who showed up to support Monday morning.
  • YHC made his first Winkie in a while being nervous about the launch!
  • Cousin Eddie apparently didn’t warn his FNG about the 2 most important things during your first workout…1. Don’t puke, 2 don’t have to poop, or t least don’t talk about it! Welcome Prairie Dog!
  • F3 has meant so much to YHC for the last almost 2 years now and the fact that it is in Hildebran and RC now is amazing.  Hopefully it’ll continue to grow and be all the things that it has been for us to someone else.
  • Thanks to the core Tower/Pit Crew! haha…. Sinkhole, Reading Rainbow, Katniss, Yogi for helping to get this thing off the ground…and to Cuz for pushing to get something started out this way!
  • Hickory boys…hope ya’ll enjoyed YHC’s daily drive for the last 2 years and don’t be strangers!!
