Mumble chatter from the 22 strong this morning was in such full force that YHC could not keep up. He did however overhear Powder saying “HBC, this really sucks.”, which of course really brings joy to ole HBC’s heart. One of the things that YHC continues to appreciate about F3 and our ever expanding Hickory PAX, is the pure inspiration and encouragement that he gets from the friendships and brotherhood that come from challenging and being challenged by such high quality men. Soon we will have to say “see you soon” to some of our high quality men as they move on with their lives in other places. We said adios to Gasser this morning as he moves to Swamp Rabbit country. It’s tough. Gasser, you’ll be missed. But the PAX was also privileged to say hello to FNG, Goodwill. Goodwill, we’re glad Iggy invited you and we hope you’ll return soon.

YHC believes that you can learn much about a man from the way he treats his wife, his children, and his friends. You will also learn much about a man from how he deals with adversity. There’s no doubt about it, adversity is part of life and so is the testing of our faith. How we react and deal with adversity and the trials of life are important. YHC shared a quote from Charles Spurgeon that he believes summarizes this point:
“No stars gleam as brightly as those which glisten in the polar sky. No water tastes so sweet as that which springs amid the desert sand. And no faith is so precious as that which lives and triumphs through adversity. Tested faith brings experience. You would never have believed your own weakness had you not needed to pass through trials. And you would never have known God’s strength had His strength not been needed to carry you through.”
As always, an honor to lead men like these.
Aye!
