Nothing to see here, folks. No biggie. Just a case of F3 Hickory taking over the western (NC) Hemisphere. Red circles signify where we have at least one AO. Blue lines are were we will have an AO. And yes, you’re reading that correctly: Mortimer is in there. Sure, it make take a couple more runnings of the Mortimer 100, but we’ll get some AO’s up there one day. No pressure Friar.
As you can clearly tell from the map, we are no longer just Hickory. Technically speaking, we haven’t been just Hickory since 2016 since Udder Butter and Twig gathered up their belongings, loaded up on a Conastoga wagon, forged Lake Hickory, and planted a flag in Granite Falls but you get the point, right? Dudes in Lenoir don’t want to be considered Hickoryites. Conover dudes would rather be mistaken for a Maidenite than a Hicktorian. And don’t get me started w/ the pax in Burke or Alexander Co. As they say, Dems Fightin’ Words when someone asks if their kin went to Fred T Foard.
Without further ado, it gives me great pleasure to announce the official retirement of F3Hickory as a region. We are now F3 Foothills.
And that’s pretty cool because that’s what we were originally called when our brothers from Statesville/Crossroads helped plant the shovel flag in upper western Catawba County and we were just a lil’ ole nomad region.
Now I can already see the soon to be puzzled looks from some pax, so allow me to attempt to answer some unasked, but sure to come questions:

- Clifford, Swinger, Yogi, Belding, The Dude, Binary, Patty Mayo same goes for you. See above.
- This name is meant to continue to encourage visiting other AO’s within your region. It’s chock full of HIMs wherever you go, so go out and enjoy them.
- Reminder that Conover still has the Foothills Ghost Flag.
- In a recent survey, Sad Clowns from Morganton said that they would rather saddle up and join F3 Foothills instead of F3 Hickory, so let’s get over there already and plant some flags?
- See above and replace Morganton w/ Maiden. Less go already!
- Little bird sat down on my shoulder and whispered in my ear that we may be headed to Catawba soon.
- I will not rest until we get an AO in Catfish and Cat Square.
- Morganton to Catfish would make for one hell of a Parade of Horribles.
- Can the next AO in the Hildebran please have a Hunger Games themed name?
- This map reminds me of one of those animated ones that you’d see in a World War 2 school movie that shows the Axis taking over Europe.

- Sincere thank you to Sheamus for his help on developing our logo. Comz is a lot of work and he’s been up to the task for several years now. T Claps to that guy.
- T-Claps to Taz as well. Dude saved our website from potential doom and is also doing a lot of behind the scenes work to change the site address from HKY to Foothills.
- Both are gingers….there’s a computer joke in here somewhere.
- Fonz in Indiana gets a T Clap too. He took Sheamus’ logo and cleaned it up for Mudgear to get us a shirt order….which is coming soon. Keep your shorts on, will ya?
