WARMUP: life is the warmup.
THE THANG: Anytime you can combine all 3 F’s into an event – it’s going to be good and a worthwhile use of your time.
The Halloween Hobble checked all 3 as expected but also exceeded expectations.
Featuring 100-mile relay teams from the Mount, the Station (x2), @Feeny And @Delivery Family Team and then HIM @jake brake attempting to reach the century mark by himself.
Tough to capture the events of the weekend completely but will offer the following highlights:
– For many, the weekend forced them out of their comfort zones. Maybe they weren’t a runner….had never done a relay or yes, ever tried for 100 miles. Men got better for being there and attempting new things and working hard towards lofty goals.
– An underlying blessing to F3 is the support and encouragement we offer fellow PAX. That was on full display throughout the weekend with kind words, a good natured 💩 talk and pulling together for common goals.
– We have been so fortunate to have some great new blood really commit to accelerating through F3. Truly impressed and thankful for HIM like @Applesauce and @Stovepipe and others that seem to have jumped right in since Day 1 and were mainstays all weekend.
– You can always return back with your brothers. Just like new blood brings energy, so does seeing guys out you haven’t seen in awhile – awesome seeing @Needles and @coin biscuit!
– Feeny and his family are awesome. They’ve used a very difficult loss in their lives – as an annual challenge in honor of their son. Instead of sitting back in sadness and letting moments of potential joy and impact pass them, they lean in – bring others to the table, help others and generally make it feel like one big community.
– I saw this from David Goggins the other day and sent it to my man Jake Brake (who tried for the hundo) – whom I truly love for who he is and where he takes his life. I thought it so fitting for a man that worked his ass off for months. “If you are trying to maximize your growth, it is important that you set goals that may be outside of your reach. Setting audacious goals applies the pressure that your body and mind needs in order to grow as it forces you to find more. The fear, the doubt and the hard work necessary to achieve that goal arethe very things that you need.” Don’t worry about Jake Brake – if you know him for more than 4 seconds, you know he will come back more determined at the time he wants to tackle it again.
– I see this thing only getting bigger and better in future years. I highly implore you to give it a weekend next October.
– A steaming cheeseburger 🍔 at any point past 10pm is sent directly from the angels of heaven.
MARY: if you say “Bloody Mary” 5 times in a mirror, I hear she’ll appear and make you run the airstrip at the Halloween hobble ANNOUNCEMENTS: We collectively filled up 2-3 portapotties among the 21 PAX. COT: If you are trying to maximize your growth, it is
