April was a great month! We saw new AOâs open (Jurisdiction and Showtime). We celebrated 7 yrs of F3 Foothills (aka: “F3 Hickory” for a short period) with a 2.0 friendly convergence. Cousin Eddie reminded the pax that there was space for a Foothills team for the BRR (not that he would be on it, as he has already thrown in with a different teamâŚbut that doesnât matter, right?) Organ Grinder, Whipping Stick, and Evening Wood all had a transfer of power with new Site Qâs â Creeper (OG), Lil Sweet (WS), and Caboose (EW) which is what we’re about. #whoseyournext We even had vapor trails light up the gloom (reminder: this time it wasnât Pump) All in all, it was a great month, even if âsome paxâ were injured.

Some of you may not have realized it but YHC has been on the IR for a little while now. After trying to work through a couple injuries, I finally had to opt out when my back spasmed up a few weeks ago. However, this down-time helped me refocus. I spent time doing some stretches and some core exercises. I got a little more sleep and spent more time in the Word. All good things..but my 1st F suffered. I wanted to be âout thereâ doing my normal: running in front of Centerfold, beating Biscuits in merkin contests, and rucking with more weight than Markup. But, I had to step aside and allow these other guys to step up into the front of the pack. During my time off, I also realized how dangerous it was to not post. It was really nice to sleep past that 4:30a alarm. However, my Shieldlock checked in on me and the chatter in the SLACKverse made me realize I was missing something. I was missing the brotherhood that comes from doing hard things with other pax. As soon as I could walk and bend at the waist again, I made it a point to post at The Station. I had to modify most exercises, sometimes Iâd warm-up with the guys, go run, then come back for Mary and COT. While this is not what I wanted to be doing, it was what I could do for this season. So my challenge to you is twofold â if youâre injured, get back out in the gloom and do something, maybe thereâs some other guys that will do yoga with you, or start a Power Walking group (I know, thatâs essentially Ruck N Roll without weight, but you could start one in your area) whatever it looks like, get back with your fellow pax. It will be good for you and help you get back in with the pack when you heal up. Secondly, if you know an injured pax, text or DM him, tell him to get back out there with you. The impact we can have on our community is dependent on the number of pax we have engaged in our mission! So, call that buddy that hasnât posted for a few weeks get him back out to the AO and run with him. Getting faster for you is one thing, but to truly make a difference, weâve got to get each other fasterâŚthen watch what happens!
