Yesterday’s Q (from me) was a bit of a shitshow.  I didn’t sleep the night before.  My brain would not shut down and let me rest.  And it showed at Expresso.  I was confused.  Pax were confused.  I was getting frustrated at my confusion.  Pax were frustrated with my confusion.  Sorry for the brain fart guys.

Enter last night.  Another super busy day:  day trip to Greenville, soccer practice for 2.2, cross country for 2.3.  Dinner at 9:00.  Homework.  Started to bed around 10:30, but turned around and collected some thoughts for todays Q.  And wrote it down on a winkie.  Slept like a dang baby.  Ready to roll at 5:00.

5:29 – One Minute warning

An FNG spotted.  Nice, Clark.  Real Nice.

5:30 – Disclaimer provided.  Warmups also provided.  Warmups were not on schedule, but with an FNG showing I felt obligated to give a few: SSH, ATT, Humpys.

Mosey to College Park, now called some Magnet School or whatever.  1st exercise was 100 Hand Release Merkins from there to the rock pile at the Y.  An audible was called that there was a 2 for 1 special if you stopped at my parent’s house to do the merkins.  They have a camera on their doorbell.  No report yet on whether or not they got us recorded.

At rock pile, curls for the girls x10IC.  Pass your rock to the left, Repeat.  x 6 (I think).  Followed by Overhead Press…just 2 of those IC.

Mosey to the bottom of Hospital Hill for a ladder.  8 LBCs at the top/1 Star Jump.  That was going to be 8 HR Merkins, but showed a bit of good judgement for the FNG.

This took a while, but the pax did a great job.

Next exercise was to partner up.  Mosey back to the flag.  YOu and your partner figure out when/where to do 20 Hop Over your Low Planking Partner Burpees each.

Ran a bit late.  Thanks for sticking with me throughout the workout.  Sorry I took a bit longer than I should have (TWSS).

Ball of Man/COT/Announcements/etc

Notes:

  • College Park was my middle school.  First school dance there…first slow dance with Becki T.  BT had some Tig ole Bitties.  That slow dance with her and those things pressed up against me gave me a Diamond Cutter that caused a bit of embarrassment afterwards.   That DC lasted for about 5 days.
  • Note inside Note:  Diamond Cutter is a good FNG suggestion.
  • Jo Jo Bright tried to sell me some Devil’s Lettuce there too.  He also rode a motorcycle across the football field during field day with cops chasing behind him.  It was epic.  Sidenote:  I placed 49th place (out of 40) in the 50 yard sprint in that same field day.
  • We also had a dude that sold us Snow Cones after school from a creepy van.  I’m pretty sure he was freshly released from the Big House in Raleigh.
  • Me, Roach, Stout, and Wormser would walk over to the Center (now the Y) and start fires inside the old train tunnel that was beside the tennis courts.  Every day.  Gasoline, plastic six pack holders, homework.  If it was combustible, we burned it.  Some were small, some looked like we were burning tires in there.  Pretty sure that would be frowned upon these days….we’ve all become a bunch of pussies.
  • Not that this is unusual for dudes my age, but I used to walk home from there all the time too (different house by the way).  House was about a mile away.  On the way, I would always run into this dude that had a white spot on his head.  He was on his way to Winn Dixie (now a surgery center) to get some brewskis and/or some Camels.  I can’t remember his name, but we were buds.  We’d chat.  We’d laugh.  He’d offer me a smoke.  I was 13, he was probably 40.
  • Kinda reminds me of the Ballad of Curtis Loew by Lynard Skynard.
  • That’s enough CE Story Time for now.  I’ll save the good ones for later.
