QIC:  Deuce

Four pax started this morning’s event, five finished.  Pretty good completion rate if you ask me.

The Thang

0514- YHC begins giving the disclaimer.

0515- YHC begins backpedaling in the direction of today’s march.

0516- Twig finally gets his ancient, balloon-filled ruck on his back, and we are off.

Ruck over to the cinder block pile and pick up a team coupon.  Twig is the first to carry.

We head down the gravel road towards Spring street, then Twig gets a phone call, which very conveniently and suspiciously gets him out of carrying the cinder block as he attempts to retrieve his phone from his ruck.

It’s Old School!  We have him meet us at the Rock Chapel.

Walk back down to Spring Street, then to Hillside.

Back up the hill to main street and turn right.

Turn right on N. Highland Ave.

At the elementary school, turn left to walk through the neighborhood across the street, mixing in some backwards walk up Montclair Ave.

Turn right and head down the hill to the Fair Value complex parking lot.

Take Pinewood Plaza back to N. Highlands.

Go back the Elementary school and walk down spooky school road.

Take the sidewalk along Dudley and turn right on Hillside.

Up the hill, freak out the middle schoolers waiting for the bus (I’m sure they were happy the bus arrive right before we did), and turn left on the steep hill of Spring Street.

Return the cinder block and make our way back to launch point.

3.4-3.5 miles, 1 hour.

  1. I love Rots o’Ruck, especially with its end-of-the week spot on the schedule.  While its still a good calorie burning workout, it also provides a bit of recovery from the higher impact workouts we do during the rest of the week.  But best of all is the opportunity for extended mumblechatter and 2nd F it provides.
  2. Q-school tonight 7-9pm on the outdoor patio at Granite Falls Brewery. Q-School beatdown tomorrow at 300.

Peace,

Deuce
