It was a beautiful 64 degrees when I pulled into the parking lot for Sling Blade and saw others waiting for the run. I made a map and sent it to Crop Duster the day before and he strongly suggested that I pick another route. Based on this information, I started over and created another 5 mile route. When I mentioned the old route, everyone got wide-eyed and were glad that I changed it after Crop Duster and I had talked. I created a safer route and after I explained it we took off. We ran by some Hard Bodies who cheered us on and then we disappeared into the darkness. We ran to the Tater Hole, but no one jumper in so I was just a little disappointed. The run was a lot of fun and I got to spend some time with several different pax. Granite Falls has some great guys and they sure are fast. I thought Hickory had some hills but I think Granite Falls has some nastier hills and I found them. We ran a 5 mile route and all finished quickly but we still had some energy left. I had an opportunity to run to the Tater Hole and I got to see a tater that has been between 2 cars for several days/weeks. They must get a lot of traffic in that used car lot! Every time you run on a road, you always have to pay attention and some times you had to play chicken with the cars.
