Friar posting on behalf of Baby Face:
These brave men came out for my virgin Q and were treated to a walk on the wildside. When planning my first Q, I took inspiration from my daughter who loves hearing about the different animal exercises we do. So, in honor of Jenna, off we went…
Warmup – 15 reps each IC
Side Straddle Hops
Imperial Storm Troopers
Windmills
Arm Circles – forward and then backwards
Then a mosey to the local hill and, while avoiding surprisingly heavy traffic for 5:30AM, we completed the Burp Back Mountain. After partnering up, the 1st PAX ran up the hill backwards and then back down forwards, while the 2nd PAX did burpees. Switch at the bottom and continue on until team reaches 100 total burpees.
Once done there, we moseyed to the local church parking lot to complete the Wheel of Animal Walk. Here PAX would Frog Hop about 6 parking spaces, Bear Crawl back to start, Duck Walk down and finish back at start with Crab Walk. At each switch, there were 10 merkins for good measure. Group ran through this exercise twice.
Next, 15 Monkey Humpers to make sure we didn’t miss any animals and then a Snake Run back to AO. This is a modified Indian Run where sprinting PAX weaves between runners in the line on the way to the front.
Once back at AO, we met with Mary – 15 reps each IC
Monkey Crunches
Crunchy Frogs
Plank Clock (1 merkin at each stop on the clock)
Freddy Mercuries
Superman (held for 30 seconds)
Word of the Day: James 1: 5-8 – If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
We all have doubts in our lives, but thru Him, anything is possible!
Moleskin (Friar):
BF did an excellent job; making YHC extremely proud. Excellent workout. Always a pleasure to workout with each one of these men and see each one advance and excel when put to the challenge of their VQ! Never disappointed!
