I never would have thought me and Marshawn Lynch would have things in common. Sure, we are freak athletes and amazing at what we do. Yes, we both love candy (he just likes Skittles, I like everything chocolate). Most of all, we show when we have to, so we don’t get in trouble. One could argue his story is on a bigger stage, Super Bowl Media Day. But, the ramifications are just as large. His punishment is fined tens, maybe hundreds, of thousands of dollars. Mine is shame from our group.
Anyways, as always we try to start the week off right with a great Q at ER. I had someone on the schedule to Q but something happened so I figured I would take advantage of the situation and put together a good time. Powder was nice enough to help me out move some blocks to an opportune location for some fun.
The Thang:
Typical warmups, nothing special
Started out as two laps of Old ER that turned into only one. Side note — was really hoping this would slow down Mud Duck as we have not found something this man is not good at yet. He showed us up, once again. Short Sale had him in the beginning put gave up the lead. In his wisdom, he knew he could catch up on the second lap but yours truly messed up his strategy.
After Old ER, we mosey’d our way to bottom of Hospital (Test for you old folks) Hill for some partner funness.
One partner stays at the bottom to perform a workout to a cumulative rep count(see below). The other runs to top and performs 10 Jumping Squats.
25 Blurpees
50 Alternating Merkins
75 KB Swings
100 Squats w/ Block
125 Bench Press
Alternate Partner Raffle Carry blocks back to Powder Hill.
Some lunges & back pedal up Powder Hill a few times. Then finish with a Phlegm led Asheville Abs.
WOD:
Pray for our students, administrators, teachers, parents, etc. as we start this school year.
