Pre:
YHC volunteered to take over a couple of Q’s this week. The Pax were glad to hear it, and didn’t immediately begin looking for other places to post or ask why they would consider showing up without an offer of a delicious catered breakfast.*
Babyface found it so thrilling that he started taking clandestine photos of me from afar.** While driving no less.
Whatever, as long as we don’t have to look at the photos of his new friend that’s growing on his ankle (I vote we name it bumpy.)
I woke up on time and didn’t even hit the snooze button I have been informed that I, in fact, hit it more than once. And that I will be sleeping outside from now on.
A pulled in and avoided the obstacle course of pax around the parking lot–as usual, I was the last one there except for Bismarck (who was just finishing up a gentle 30 mile pre-run.) I was especially excited to see Swinger at a running AO. Though, I’m not real pleased that he looks better in a tank top than I do.
Thang:
Headlamp on, let’s mosey. Warming up is for only the uncool***
We’re gonna run the following route, stopping every 1/4 mile or so to do an exercise.
- Around the first greenway loop. Stops for SSH IC x21, merkins IC x 18(ish,) LBCs IC x21
- Toward the Presbyterian Church and along Powell to the Adventist Church and back to the Presbyterian. Stops for overhead claps IC x 21, modified pullups OYO x10, Squats IC x21, Dips OYO x21
- Up to the library**** and back down. Stops for hello dollies (or something) IC x21, stepups OYO x like a billion, American hammers IC x 21
- Back to the AO. Stops for plank jacks IC x 21, mountain climbers IC x 21
- 5 burpees OYO****
We’re done. Spokes needs to run a little more to hit three miles, Babyface and PBR are at 3.2, but my watch says 3.9.
?
Let’s assume that mine is the most correct.
Word:
Uh, I forgot to come up with something.
But I probably haven’t shown my appreciation for the pax enough. Now is as good a time as any. Thank you all for providing fellowship, keeping me accountable, and staying in touch while I quarantined (and before and since.)
Moleskine:
- Friar, we love you.
- Hurricanes are fun. Several pax had enjoyed the one on the coast last week so we don’t see why the fuss over glorified thunderstorms.
- Oh, they get worse?
- I don’t know basic North Carolina geography.
- When (not if) there is a zombie apocalypse, everyone go to Babyface’s neighbor’s house.
- Bismarck has promised a fun food themed workout for those going to The Den tomorrow.
- Several other area AOs are closing to spend time with Old School and memorialize Dilbert.
- Goodwill sendoff at Mi Carreta Thursday 6-8.
- I found the “horizontal line” setting on here. Did I overdo it? ζ⊗⊂θξÐ
*This is a lie.
**This is true. And creepy?
***I guess olympians and pro athletes are uncool
****Everyone was thrilled for this part and nobody complained*
