There’s something about ER that I love. It’s always hard 🤫 and it’s on Monday morning… which is generally when I’m most most ornery self. SO, if I can show up and conquer the concrete beast(which is also an innuendo) then I’ve accomplished the most difficult task of the week and for some reason my week is always better for doing so, or so it seems.
When I Q, I make my workouts based off of 2 things, or at least attempt to. 1.) I’m slightly selfish, I want to workout my perceived weeknesses based off whatever goal, race or whatever, i have coming up. 2.) I want to create an atmosphere where guys aren’t too bogged down by counting or whatever so that the shit-talking can flourish. -Which it did this morning
We start out with a warmup, I like to slow count, I don’t know how you guys fast count alternating-toe-touches, so I slow count and throw everyone off – see paragraph 2 – I’m selfish
First event is a modified lap of ER. Instead of cheatable crunches, we do big BOIIIIII sit-ups. Instead of running down the stairs, we run down the entire parking deck ramps, stopping for 10 squats each turn. I stupidly stopped early thinking I was at the bottom to do my big booooiiiiiiii sit-ups, everyone laughed and made fun because of this(Ecept Pleghm, Owie and Shorty – they were already ahead) BUUUUUUT, everyone commenced to following suit – Who’s laughing now? I mean, I think it’s cute you guys don’t like to think for yourselves.
Next, we waited at the bottom for the group, jogged to the bottom of Oakwood hill, we lunge walked to a yellow sign, ran to the stop light, 15 merkins, 20 big boi sit-ups, run down, rinse and repeat until times up.
WOD – Allow yourself to become bored and your imagination will awaken
