YHC notified Tower PAX how awesome this morning’s workout was going to be, and that we would be playing a fun game. Four PAX (+ YHC) showed up for the fun times.
Warm Up, all in cadence:
- 25 SSH’s
- 11 Humpies
- 11 LAC’s
- 11 RAC’s
- 11 High Knees
- 11 Butt Kickers
Then we moseyed to the parking lot across the street to play THE GAME.
THE GAME
YHC was inspired by F3 Peachtree a few weeks ago, and brought this gem back from GA. A few rules were changed, but the fun-factor was retained. PAX split into two teams, Red and Blue. We had an odd number with smallish teams (3, 2), so a quick improv rule that if the three-player team wins, the winning PAX changes sides. Teams start on opposite sides of the parking lot, do 5 burpees, and then select the first mode of travel (Broad Jump) to begin heading towards the other team. Modes of travel include:
- Broad Jump
- Crawl Bear
- Lunge Walk
- Bear Crawl
- Mario Jump
- IST
- Crab Walk
- Sprint
- Inchworm Walk
Once a PAX from each team meets each other, a quick game of Rock, Paper, Scissors determines the winner. The winner continues traversing the parking lot towards the opposing team’s base. The loser sprints back to their base, performs 5 burpees, and then moves on to the next mode of travel to begin heading towards the other team’s base. If a PAX makes it to the other team’s base, they win!
It seems the three-player team always won, but we switched sides so often that it probably didn’t matter too much. Everyone had fun. 😏
After Katniss and Patti Mayo left, we finished out the last few minutes with a Round Robin Mary:
- American Hammers in cadence
- Freddie Mercuries in cadence
- Flutter Kicks in cadence
- Box Cutters in cadence
- LBC’s in cadence
- 1 Minute Plank
WOD
YHC shared from a Tim Keller book on Romans 6:22
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
and the contrast between being slaves to our wants and desires and where that leads, versus being slaves to God and where that leads.
Count-o-rama, name-o-rama, and then YHC prayed us out.
SYITG! Especially May 18th at the Mount. YHC may have a fun game to play.
