March 18th. This was a day I’ve been both excited for and also hoped would take longer to finally get her. Nevertheless, when I woke up at 4:15 am this morning, my watch definitely said Mar. 18th – which meant that today was officially my last Q as an F3 Foothills PAX. As I sit here writing this BB at 11:30 pm with my 6 on bare hardwood floors in a house void of any furniture or comfortable things to sit on, I find it hard to find anything witty to say. I’ve had all day to mull over what I wanted to say as an “intro” but no humor can truly meet my emotions about today. To save my rambling for the end, let’s just jump into the thang.

COT: Again, because for once, in written form, words have escaped me… So instead, I’ll just post my notes (and fill in some blanks).

Leave No Man Behind, But Leave No Man Where You Find Him

We’re all searching for “meaning”

“Love is the only way to grasp another human being in the innermost core of his personality. No one can become fully aware of the very essence of another human being unless he loves him. By his love he is enabled to see the essential traits and features in the beloved person; and even more, he sees that which is potential in him, which is not yet actualized but yet ought to be actualized. Furthermore, by his love, the loving person enables the beloved person to actualize these potentialities. By making him aware of what he can be and of what he should become, he makes these potentialities come true.”

  • Victor Frankel – Man’s Search for Meaning

Help each other get 1% better every day.

“The man you help will be the man that helps you.” – Dredd

Life is short. Leave no regrets…

Men of F3 Foothills – I am a better man today because of you. Thinking back to that dude who showed up to Expresso in the fall of 2016 asking a bunch of dudes at 5:25 in the morning, “Is this F3?”, I can honestly say I had literally no idea just how impactful that moment would be. I started strong and for various reasons, I went rogue. Not just rogue for a few weeks or even months, but for literally nearly 2.5 years. In those 2.5 years of sad clownery, several HIM in this region stuck with me. Loved me. Pushed me. Finally, in September of last year, I came back and I can say that decision was easily one of the best decisions I could have made. Each one of you chose to live out the F3 Credo in some way shape or form because I am leaving Hickory tomorrow (today – bc you’re probably reading this on Friday) a better husband, father, son, friend, and human being because of you.

For that, I’m eternally grateful.

I love you guys.

Until we get to hang out in the gloom together again (or for some of you, run Seven Sisters together),

Peaches Out!

(Ps. Sorry not sorry for rambling – there’s probably only a handful of you who read this far anyway)
