YHC wasn’t sure how rainy the morning would be, so taking advantage of the Steeple’s two porticos was on the weinke. Four PAX ready under the first portico at 5:30, so we start the warm-up in cadence:
- 15 SSH’s
- 15 LAC’s
- 15 RAC’s
- 15 High Knees
It’s the 15th, so that’s our rep count for the morning. We mosey to the blocks, each PAX grabs one, and we mosey to the second portico. Here YHC explains the workout:
P – Plank Jacks
O – Overhead Press
R – Rows (Bent Over Rows)
T – Triceps Dips
I – Imperial Storm Troopers
C – Curls
O – Overhead Press (again, because it’s Arby’s favorite)
Reading Rainbow advocated a longer word like “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” but YHC will need to save that one for another workout. 15 reps of each (OYO) and then each PAX runs to the first portico for 15 squats, returns for 14 reps of each, back for 14 squats, and so on until 1.
We finished with about 10 minutes remaining, so YHC had everyone line up to cross the parking lot:
- Lunge walk 5 spaces, 5 jump squats, lunge walk 5 more, 5 jump squats, lunge walk 5 more, and finish with 5 jump squats.
- Back: lunge walk, but froggers this time.
- And back again: lunge walk, but merkins this time to complete our 15 deconstructed burpees.
It’s 6:15 so we mosey back to the first portico for count-o-rama (4) and name-o-rama. YHC shares a relatively well-known verse: Jeremiah 29:11 –
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
But often we don’t consider the context in which this isn’t just a standalone verse about oneself, but actually concerns community: Jeremiah 29:7 –
But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.
Specifically in Israel’s case, they’re encouraged to be a blessing to their city, a city of their enemies no less. YHC encouraged HIM’s to be a blessing to their city and prayed us out.
SYITG!
