OG was birthed out of a hate for running.  Much like Martin Luther gave the Catholic church the middle finger, one devilishly handsome, self proclaimed HIM declared: I am Not a Runner and created OG.  He spraypainted some old cinder blocks in hopes that other Non-Runners would unite and tell all pencil necked, skinny armed runners that Thou Shalt Not Pass.  But much to the dismay of the OG Non-Runner, not a lot of dudes showed at OG.  Peaches, you were there.  Publix too.

The Site Q duties were passed on to a certain thin-skinned pax…..nah, I don’t need to besmirch a man.  Let’s just say that he didn’t like his AO being poked fun at by a certain thick-thighed pax so he took his shovel flag and basically didn’t post again for about 2 years.

Next Site Q brought his kettlebells with him to a freshly paved parking lot that was significantly nicer than the original used condom laden lot just barely due South of Burke County.  This brought a different, but loyal crowd.  Steady numbers for a while.  Plus they tried to shed their non running reputation by pre-running at the non-running AO.  Now that’s irony if I’ve ever heard of it.  OG Founding Fathers were rolling over in their graves at the injustice.

Next Site Q continued the kettlebell theme.  Numbers were still decent at times.  There was that one time that the OGFF (Organ Grinder Founding Father) showed up for his Q and exactly zero other dudes decided to post with him.  Except, of course, for the rando car parked in the far corner that very likely had 2 dudes taking turns playing Hide the Sausage.  Then Covid hit.  The world shut down.  Sometime during the first shutdown, the City of Hky decided that they needed to install automatically closing gates at all of their parks.  Thanks guys, much appreciated.  Time to move again.

Once the world somewhat opens back up, Site Q moves the OG to Ridgeview.  While the move hasn’t attracted any FNG’s from the area, it was a way to show solidarity w/ that mostly underprivileged community.  I loved the idea and have posted to OG more in the last few months since the original opening of that AO.  But something else has happened to OG.  She’s no longer the dirty skank whore that she once was for sure.  But she’s also a running AO.  For slow & fast dudes alike.  Not too long ago, someone had the brilliant idea that if you’re on the faster side out there to turn around and Pick Up the Six instead of leaving him 1/2 mile behind.  This gives a slow dude the opportunity to improve while allowing non-slow dudes the chance to get some decent miles in.  I gotta say, this is sheer genius.

Ok, so that was a pretty good lil rabbit hole of a prelude.

Workout:

Good Mornings x3 IC

Route:

Turn left.  Keep going for at least one mile while also Picking Up the Six.  Return to Ridgeview.

Repeat.

That street has some good hills on it.

You’re welcome.

Rando Thoughts:

  • I was able to mange to get 4.5 in (TWSS)
  • Short Sale got 4.7 (do I really even need to put it here)  <– also TWSS
  • speaking of SS, that dude’s disco ball of a running vest likely saved one of our backsides this am.  A car coming up one hill was nearly impossible to see until it was right on top of us.  Which reminds me, WEAR SOME TYPE OF LIGHT, PEOPLE
  •  Great mumblechatter this am
  • Something about my Wolfpack going to go deep in Liberty this weekend.
    • And I’m not referring to a pass play
  • Flex Seal called me out for being in last place
  • Of course that was fake news, but I had to let my boy have his moment in the sun as he got some good chuckles from the peanut gallery
  • Got to hang w/ Caboose for a while on the last leg.  Thanks for the company fella.
  • For the record:  Pantsed Swanson had pants on
  • For the record:  Tattooed Swanson still has a shitton of tattoos
  • Dougboy & Flamer headed to South Mtns to give the trails a go this Friday.  I encouraged them to give Upper Falls a go.  It’s a doozey…TWSS
  • OUT
