This morning 4 PAX converged at the station at 5:30 AM to run some miles. The route length was 6 miles and the mumble chatter was solid. For those that don’t know “The Station” men have started a competition within their AO. We have split the men of the station into two groups to compete for miles during “36 Hours of Joy.” The two teams are “The Daffodils” and “The Dolphins.” This has amped up the smack talking and has really accelerated the number of miles that the men of the station are committing to run. At least for the “The Daffodils”, and yes YHC is a little biase. This has added to the excitement and as we all know competition breeds success!! As we ran today we had 2 PAX from each group so the smack-talking began after mile #1. Smokey, who is a marine and a retired state trooper had fun chanting songs of encouragement to the Dolphins, which caused the dolphins to speed up. YHC of course couldn’t let Smokey have all the fun and Diamond Dave and Gump had a few witty plugs as well. All-in-all it made the 6 miler fly by and accelerated the pace. It drizzled off-and-on and all-in-all the weather held together fairly well. Once we returned to the station the PAX were excited that the restrooms are open and then 3 PAX stayed around for a mini Bootcamp led in round-robin style. Prior to the mini boot camp, Gump and Diamond Dave enlightened everyone on how Diamond Dave’s name originated. Did you know that Diamond Dave has participated in martial arts for 35 plus years? Just FYI everyone needs to watch THIS VIDEO! It is important to know the proper form of the Ninjy Chop and Judy Chop. The mini Bootcamp consisted of lots of merkins, incline merkins, LBCs, squats, freddie mercuries, gas pumps, burpees, little baby arm circles, OH claps, front claps, you get the picture. Time was called at 7:00 AM.
On Thursday, October 15th at 5:30 AM we will be having a “Prayer RAM” at Mt. Sania Baptist Church in Catawba, NC. YHC will be Qing this event. Come out and let’s cover “36 Hours of Joy” in prayer. We invite all men to join. There will be PAX pre-pre running at 4:40 and pre-running at 5:00 as well. See you there!
