We’ve all run these hills in the past.  They test us and make us better.  And we’ve all run them about a thousand times over the past 5 1/2 years.  And if there’s one thing that Cousin Eddie doesn’t love, it’s repetition.  In fact, if you want CE to boycott a day at Arrow, post that old assed worn out route that we used to do every stinking week.  I’d rather have bamboo shoots nailed under my thumbnail that run that route.  It’s as played out as Clemson orange.  Or those bobos that Jordache used to wear w/ the toe holes in them.  So with that in mind, let’s do some hills that we don’t see that often.  If ever.

Route was something like this:

6th street to the Pines.  Follow Charity Chase route to the Coke bottling plant, and keep straight.  This takes you across the Other Side of the Tracks, past Bourbon Street bar, and down to into SW Hickory.  Also known as The Area Where Squints Gets Nervous.  He must have a love child that lives down there or something.  That would make him the Strom Thurmond of Hickory.  Anyway, stay on 9th St until you get to the old Hannah’s and take a left on 7th Ave SE.  I think it’s some form of a biker bar now?  Or a possible source for X, Ludes, the Devil’s Lettuce, or at the very least some good ole fashioned Meth.  Either way, I doubt that they serve Spiked Seltzers in there.  Sorry Carolina fans.

9th St deserves a name for what it did to us.  Started w/ a lil bit of Up, then way down, and then all the way back up, a slight down, and a slight up again to end up at Ridgeview Rec Center, then down 1st St back to downtown to the bottom of Hospital Hill, and follow N Center St back to Corinth.  6.1 miles of fun and fellowship.

Thanks to HBC for sticking with me.  Thanks to Fuse for staying with the six.  Six was Cheese.  Hope that hip gets better brother.  Thanks to Kapowski, SP and Herniator for pacing everyone.  Retread hung back with the slowzies for a while, then took off to the front w/ Ski, SP and H only to be slowed by an impending deuce drop.  Ferdinand, Beaker, and Pump apparently ran the same route, but had an early start.  No actual witnesses to what route they did.

Hope i haven’t left anyone off.  Pleasure to lead you on this chilly morning.

CE Out.
