QIC:  Goldberg

Countless men battled the relentless grip of the fartsack, four emerged victorious and shook a fist in the face of the sub-freezing morning. These four champions stumbled their way to Organ Grinder for a 5 am pre-run. Nearly three miles later another victorious fist shaker was discovered as we returned to the AO and discovered Udder Butter patiently awaiting our return. Various kettle bells, sand sacks, battle ropes, and a solitary medicine ball were selectively scattered to six different points in the parking lot to make pain stations.

YHC began with a non-traditional disclaimer announcing his VQ and began with Side-straddle hops, Humpies, Merkins, Flutter kicks, and hands-free Box cutters. Sufficiently warmed-up, the Pax began the following:

14 – four count Shoulder-tap planks, run to a station, perform 14 reps, return to center, 14 – four count Hip drop planks, rinse and repeat until all 6 stations were complete.

Stations:

Battle ropes, Goblet squat, Around the worlds, Sandbag hip raise, Overhead press, Upright row

Exercise cards were flipped to reveal a different exercise. The Pax continued with the same reps for these new exercises:

Jump rope, Deadlift, Kettlebell swings, Russian twist, Curls for Girls, Bent-over row

Pax then went on a mosey down the hill to circle the (cat?) statue and return to the center of the pain stations. Pax repeated with reps reduced to 7 as long as time allowed.

COT: Christmas is the biggest holiday of the year for both secular and non-secular families. While this is understandable and by no means should be diminished, the birth of Jesus is not what makes us right with God. It’s his substitutionary death and resurrection that cleanses us and makes us fit for the Lord. Do we celebrate Easter with as much fervor, traditions, decorations, and ceremony as we do Christmas? Do our families anticipate Easter with as much joy? I know I am guilty, but I vow to do better.
