QIC:  Biscuits

YHC was pretty excited about Q’ing his first Tower workout: a new AO with lots of new places to explore, like the Hildebran Community Park, so we went there… but first the warm-up (all in cadence):

  1. 20 Side-straddle Hops
  2. 10 Little Arm Circles
  3. 10 Reverse Arm Circles
  4. 10 Humpies
  5. 15 High Knees (called High Knees, but began and did one-count o’ Butt Kickers before YHC realized his mistake, rewind, retry!)
  6. 15 Butt Kickers

Now a short-ish mosey to the park. Nice sidewalks here, but we cut a corner across the Mt Hebron parking lot and up the drive to the park parking lot, stopping for three rounds of this:

One PAX starts at each of the 9 stations. When the PAX at station one completes his round of running, he shouts “UP!” and all PAX rotate to next station.

  1. The first round, run from exercise area to park entrance and back (~60s), second round around loop and back (~30s), third round to end of parking lot and back (~20s).
  2. Grip turntable and Plank Walk back and forth.
  3. Big Boy Sit-ups.
  4. Step-ups.
  5. Jump Squats, side-to-side with one foot on step.
  6. Triceps Dips.
  7. Merkin + Rotation, alternating sides.
  8. Pull-ups on high bar and/or low bar with heels resting on ground.
  9. Traveling Merkins up-and-down bar.

Once everyone had finished each station for the third time, we finished up at the park with a few Peekaboo Streets and LBC’s, and then retraced our way back to the Tower.

At the Tower we lunge-walked the parking lot, turned around and alternated broad jumps and burpees back. Finally we circled up and did a round-robin of ab exercises:

  1. YHC offered Leg Raises
  2. Swanson for LBC’s
  3. Arby’s with a Plank
  4. Yogi with 6in Leg Raise
  5. Sink Hole brought Flutter Kicks
  6. Swanson American Hammers
  7. And Deuce finished with J-Lo’s (first time for YHC and, for the record, he does not enjoy them.)

6:15, so we do the count-o-rama, name-o-rama, and then the WOD from John Piper with The Purpose of Prosperity:

There are three levels of how to live with material things: (1) you can steal to get them; (2) or you can work to get them; (3) or you can work to get in order to give….

…Almost all the forces of our culture urge us to live on level two: work to get. But the Bible pushes us relentlessly to level three: work to get to give. β€œGod is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8).

Then YHC prayed us out.
