Monday night, Publix threw it out there that he needed to switch Q’s because of vacation. I had a conflict for next Wednesday when I was scheduled to Q, so more than a coincidence it seemed ordained that I would Q at OG this morning. The only problem I had was that I have only attended OG once since it switched over to the bestest kettlebell AO in the 4 county area and I really had no clue what to do. However, about a month ago, Flex Seal brought the OG to the Mount (Former Ghost Flag Champions!) (What happened to that thing anyway?) and we got a taste of what OG is all about! Unbeknownst to me, yesterday a little taste of OG was brought to Howitzer (Howlitzer? J/K) This sparked an idea. Why not bring the Mount to the OG and incorporate the 2 AO’s for a little early morning fun?
After a slow-jam pre-run with Flex, Cropduster and myself, we circled up and it went like this:
Warmups: SSH, Windmills, Humpy’s, LAC–>RAC and then I turned it over to Flex to get us primed up with a few kettlebell warm-ups.
The Thang:
Everybody grabbed a partner and 2 Kettlebells and met up in the middle of the upper parking area where a list of Kettlebell exercises were laid out.
O – Overhead Press/tricep
R – Reverse Lunge
G – Goblet Squats
A – Ab crunch
N – Nose Curls
One partner would stay and do AMRAP while the other partner ran to the lower parking lot and did the MOUNT.
M – Mountain Merkins
O – Outlaws
U – Up/Downs
N – Nolan Ryans
T – Thighmasters
10 of each for the first round, then run up and tag your partner and take over with the kettlebells while they ran down and did their 10 count of the MOUNT.
Round 2 – 9 count
Round 3 – 8 count
Round 4 – 5 count (we were running out of time)
We finished up and circled up where Flex led us in some Iron Crosses and Burt Reynolds.
A good time was had by all.
WOD – “If a man does his best, what else is there?” Gen. George S. Patton.
Colossians 3:17
Anything worth doing is worth doing right and whatever we find ourselves doing should be done as an offering to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
It was a pleasure working out with the men of OG this morning and HT to Flex for the vision and service he provides for this fine AO!
