QIC:  Fuse

I had to set up the workout and so I was a minute or so late, when I rounded the corner towards the flag, Cuz along with Twig and Kapo were starting to warmup.

As I come up, a few others join, HBC, Patti Mayo and Cheese Wiz.

Merkins 4-count, 10 reps

Windmill x10

Alternating Toe Touch OR Simultaneous toe touches if you’re ambitious

Mosey to the start of the workout

We meet at the bottom of Oakwood Hill were I have a series of cones annotated with a workout that generally involves forward progress except for the first and last workout. The cones stat at the botttom of the hill and are placed along the hill until you reach the top.  At the top you complete the final workout and mosey around the cemetery and back to the start.

First workout was 25 merkins, from there you lunge walk to the next cone, bear crawl to the next, run backwards to the next then long jump +burpee the final cone where you complete the round with 100 single count flutter kicks.  Rinse and repeat.  I think everyone completed 3 rounds.

I’m a bit of a broken record with lunge walks and bear crawls, but if it ain’t broke… don’t fix it.  They’re hard and no one wants to do them, therefore we do them.  Just like Merkins, I hate doing them, therefore I do them.  I’ve learned to love running Hills in this same fashion… its only a matter of time for these other exercises.

The first round of exercises was too easy and the recovery mosey was too long so I gave the pax a surprise and extended all the lengths between each station.  Q’s can call audibles, I read about it, in a book.

WOD from Nadia Bolz-Weber

“Never once did Jesus scan the room for the best example of holy living and send that person out to tell others about him. He always sent stumblers and sinners.  I find that comforting”
