The forecast for this morning was calling for rain but I was not worried beside you get wet on most Ruck activities. YHC sent a tweet out yesterday that we would do a pre-Ruck for anyone interested. I needed to get a few more miles in so I started a little earlier but knew I needed to get back to meet up with 1 and possible 2 other pax at 4:15. While I was Rucking, I met a man who thought it was interesting that I was just walking around. He had ran out of gas and was just walking around at 3:00 so he asked if he could join me. I said sure so walked, ran, and talked together for the next few miles. To be honest…. I started to feel a little uneasy so I went into the hospital and we went our separate ways. I got back to the AO about 4:15 and picked up 2 pax and we took off. I explained to them about the young man I had met and we went the opposite direction to reduce the possibility of running into him again. We did about 4 miles before topping by RAM to pick up any additional ruckers. Since no one there wanted to Ruck, we did a walk through and did not stop. We had rucked about 2.5 miles and we ran into my friend again and he said he had been looking for me and he started to walk and talk with me again. We ran, walked, and talked some more and I told him we were almost at the end of our route so he said bye and headed in the opposite direction. He met the RAM crew running up the hill and Cropduster had the idea to run with the crew so our new friend joined in too. He made it back to the AO and did the last few exercises and then joined in on the COT. He told us about himself and his nickname is Socrates.
WOD – We joined in with the RAM crew for COT and WOD where Flamer talked to us about that while we were still sinners, Jesus died for us and read portions of Romans 5. Plank and I had talked about doing something special so I said Plank had an announcement after the prayer.
Plank announced that we were going to have communion if anyone was interested. This was a great and meaningful time for myself. It truly was a special time that I was able to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made for me (and everyone). All we have to do is give Him our heart.
