QIC:  Cousin Eddie

In case you’ve been under a rock for the past 2 months and missed the twitter banter between Fuse and Cousin Eddie, it’s gone something like this:

  • CE:  Running in the middle of summer is truly a miserable experience.  Let’s open up a new Wednesday AO for non-running folk
  • FS: You suck
  • CE:  What what ole chap?  Me thinks that our region would benefit from this addition
  • FS:  Pound sand, old man
  • CE:  (pulls out his great great grandfather’s white leather glove and smacks Fuse across the cheek) How dare you insult my AO’s honor, kind sir.
  • FS:  Get bent, Turd Burgler

There has even been a rumble of sorts between AO’s that only Fuse could describe.  Go find his BB about that historic morning, it’s a classic.

But in the time honored Bowman tradition of taking the high road, I refused to take get on the twitter and besmirch Arrow/Fuse’s – anyone else noticed that they’ve sorta fused into one flesh? – reputation before my first Arrow Q since opening Organ Grinder, the best Wednesday AO.   It’s because I’m too classy to drag someone through the mud.

Ok, caught up yet?  Fast forward to yesterday AM:

  • 2:00:00 AM: Ed wakes up to take a leak
  • 2:00:03 AM: the M wakes up and is convinced there is a bug in the bed.  Freaks out.  Ed can’t sleep.
  • 3:45:  Ed falls back asleep.
  • 4:50: Ed’s alarm gets up.
  • 4:50:01: Ed considers a Level 10 Fartsack
  • 4:50:05:  Ed realizes that after starting Organ Grinder, the baddest Wednesday AO, a L10FS at Arrow would bring the wrath of Fuse and all other runners to unbearable levels of public shaming.
  • 4:51:  Ed drops deuce
  • 4:58: Ed is clothed
  • 4:59: Ed sits back on toilet as pipes are still rattling.
  • 5:03:  Time to pinch it off and roll

As Ed arrives at AO, he was expecting to find the usual suspects there:  HBC, Taz (who personally HC’d via text), Sooner, Abraham (I think someone mentioned that he moved?), Gasser (ditto), Peaches, Jordache, and the rest of the Tuna Team.  Some of the usuals were there:  Stonewall, Kapowski, Humpy, Squints, Fuse, and Powder.

Off we went.  Down the most confusing route known to man.  Left at 15th Ave Ct Dr, Right at 45th St Pl Dr, and on and on.  Squints led the fast guys, I tried to lead the slow(er) guys.  Since this was my first run in 2 months, I knew I’d be gassed and slower than my normal slow.  But do you know who stayed back w/ me the whole time?  My man Fuse.  The dude simply refused to speed up and leave me in the dust.  I knew he wanted take off and catch up w/ the real runners a couple of times.  We all know that he can dust me, but the man simply wouldn’t and I can’t thank him enough for doing that.  That was a huge help fella.  You are both a twitter scholar and a gentleman.  Seriously, do you hire someone to do your tweetin?  99% of the time, you’re spitting gold out there.  Keep it up.  Can’t wait for your Q at OG in a few weeks.

FYI – Still sore from yesterday’s run.  I’ll be back soon enough!

Ed out.
