11 pax dragged themselves out of bed & into the fog for a round of ‘Whipping Stick.’ After a pretty solid week of tough workouts, YHC thought it would be fun to mix it up a bit & reward those present with a 1/2 sucky, 1/2 fun Q. Heres how it went down.

– Mosey to the football field for:
BLIMPS SUICIDES – For this exercise, cones were placed around each 20 yard marker. Starting at the back of the End Zone, Pax were to sprint to the first cone & complete the designated exercise. Once that exercise was completed, Pax would sprint back to the End Zone & sprint to the next cone to perform the next exercise. Repeat until finished.

Now that the first half was complete, we divided into 2 teams & played a highly competitive game of ultimate frisbee. Seeing the frisbee proved to be more difficult than expected & nearly impossible at times. But, there was no missing Doughboy’s sweet ‘Antonio Brown-esk’ moves. Although he claimed that it was his first time playing, the guy was clearly the MVP. In fact, YHC thinks that Doughboy increased his draft stock exponentially! Hats off!
However, it wasn’t all pretty, as there was definitely a tie for the ‘COME ON MAN’ play of the game. The deadlock is between Kapowski’s tee-off, which maybe traveled 4 yards before exiting out of bounds, & Beaker’s throw(?), which looked more like an attempt at an ‘American Hammer’ & traveled an estimated distance of 1/2 a yard. A backblast doesn’t do it justice!
Announcements:
We worked out today with heavy hearts for our F3 brother, Mark-Up, at the news of his mother’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him & his family during their time of grieving as we grieve with them.
WOD:
As men, it’s easy for us to keep our eyes focused on the future, rather than focusing on the present. For YHC, this is a constant battle. James 4:13-14 says, “Now listen, you who say ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business & make money.’ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while & then vanishes.” Don’t rob yourself of the present! Pay attention to the things that are in front of you now, as we are not promised tomorrow.
