QIC:  Phlegm

It was the first work out after daylight savings and it definitely showed. It would have been a great morning to hibernate and apparently several PAX decided to go that route and fartsack on this delightful morning of 37° with a steady drizzle.

The night before Cousin Eddie set the over under at 5 PAX and at 5:29 it was looking like the house was going to win as 4 lonely bears circled up. Then Jordache came in hot-on-two-wheels with shovel flag in hand.

So 5:30 AM we circled up and went a little something like this…

SSH IC x 15
Slow windmill IC x10
Humpee IC x 12

One lap of Old ER

Mosey back to the bottom of the parking deck.

I announced the workout as a BLIMPS pyramid 5,10,15,20,15,10,5.

We then had a very brief Q&A session…

PAX #1: “Are you serious?”
YHC: “Yes.”

PAX 2: “Wait, wait. Hold on a minute.  How many bear crawls do we have to do?!”
YHC: “As many as it takes.”

Bottom deck 5 Burpees, 5 lunges (each leg), 5 imperial storm troopers (each leg), 5 Merkins, 5 plank jacks, 5 squats

BEAR CRAWL up to the next deck 10 BLIMPS.

Run to the next deck 15 BLIMPS

BEAR CRAWL to the next deck 20 BLIMPS

Run to the Next deck 15 BLIMPS

BEAR CRAWL* to the Next deck 10 BLIMPS

*Note: At this point searing hot pain was burning up in the back of my legs. I thought I been mistaken for a bear by a hunter and had been shot. Turns out it was just lactic acid buildup reaching a new all-time high.

Mosey to the bottom of the deck.

We circled up for some Mary. 25 box cutters, 15 American hammer, 8 pretzels, 20 Dyin cockroach, 15 Juanita’s.

Mosey back to the flag, Count, Name, Prayers, WOD, COT (lead by HBC).

The stats:

Merkens = 134
Burpees= 75
Miles= 2.2
Mublechatter=0

In honor of UVA winning ACC regular season and tournament I shared a Thomas Jefferson story.

During Thomas Jefferson’s presidency, he and a group of travellers were crossing a river that had overflowed its banks. Each man crossed on horseback fighting for his life.

A lone traveller watched the group traverse the treacherous river and then asked President Jefferson to take him across. The president agreed without hesitation, the man climbed on, and the two made it safely to the other side of the river where somebody asked him: “Why did you select the President to ask this favour?”
The man was shocked, admitting he had no idea it was the President of the United States who had carried him safely across. “All I know,” he said, “is that on some of your faces was written the answer ‘No’ and on some of them was the answer ‘Yes.’ His was a ‘Yes’ face.”

WOD: For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. – Matthew 7:8

The most significant decision we make each day is our choice of attitude. When the attitude is right there’s no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream too extreme and no challenge too great.

Be a ‘yes’ man.
