Pre:
YHC has spent the last few days quarantined in my mother in law apartment, away from everyone unless double masked. Every ache and pain, every sniffle and cough a possible harbinger of impending doom and mortality.
So it was some relief to receive the negative test result and to be able to post once again.
Swinger was an HC, Spokes was out to deal with the results of Hurricane Ida, PBR and Bismarck don’t have to commit in writing–we all know they’ll be there.
I pulled in at 5:14, Bismarck had just finished his overnight run, PBR and Swinger were ready and waiting. We stood around for a minute trying to figure out who was Q, but finally realized it was Spokes. I got excited to do the Ironpax challenge. The pax didn’t know what it was, so they agreed that it sounded like a good idea.
Then I explained Week 0 “Capoot” and the pax tried to change the plan.
Too late, we’re locked in.
Friar pulled in and we spent another minute watching him try to run us over, park in a weird spot, and make his way over to us before we finally got up the nerve to get started.

Thang:

The pax were all mad at YHC, but I could tell they were secretly super happy with the workout. Every “This was stupid” and “I hate you for this” meant “This was a wonderful idea” and “let’s do it again tomorrow”
Word:
Praying tonight for healthcare workers at the Hospital and Hospice.
Covid and its’ effects are taking their toll on the community–pray we pass through this terrible time without too much more pain suffering and anxiety.
Moleskine:
- Electric bill refunds are best spent on tanks.
- I’ve never heard anyone say “oh, I can feel that”
- What’s more important, daughter’s wedding or a workout?
- Friar is fast, but even if you can’t see him ahead of you, you can follow his clicks
- I’m gonna need more compression out of my compression shirt.
