I used to work with a PAX from Charlotte. He told me one time of the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim race. It sounded brutal. Check it out here. Basically start at the top of one side of the canyon and 24 miles later come out at the top of the other side. So today’s workout was inspired by that.
Had the normal gang today. PBR was fresh off his Stargate VQ…..and he completed the 5 miles. Dude is a runner……its just as dumb as country music to him apparently. After a quick debate on why I was stepping into the middle of the circle, it was time to being

- RAC
- Chinook
- ATT
- Humpies
- Then on our 6 for some lower back stretches for old man Twin
Mosey to the police station for some calf raises(c’mon….you have to see that coming. Gotta keep the calf muscles looking sexy. Although all of these guys run and bike so their calf muscles have calf muscles……so its really just for me)
Then we moseyed to find the correct street. I knew what I needed and have worked out in downtown Lenoir for a long time, but I couldn’t see this morning due to the dense fog……so we debated what street would ultimately lead us up the steeps to Davenport School. Turns out Spokes was right, both streets had stairs leading up to the school so we chose Church Street.
Rim to Rim
We found ourselves at the top of the hill at Hospice. We would run down the hill, stopping at each intersection to stop and perform 10 reps of the selected exercise. We would run all the way down the hill then back up until we reached the top of Davenport school then back to hospice. I counted 10 stops total. We made a total of 3 trips. Exercises consisted of Merkins, Squats, and WW2. I clocked about 2.5 miles with a lot of hills.
