Time to put the F3 Quiz to rest.  But that doesn’t mean that yall shouldn’t study up.   The intent behind this was to help you get an idea or understanding that there is so much going on outside of your AO and our region.  But it was also to help you understand where we came from & who helped lay the foundation for what is now F3 Foothills.  This thing didn’t happen overnight and a lot of dudes helped get us to where we are today.  Plus, I’m a history nerd and I really enjoyed putting this stuff down on paper for you.  Hope that you enjoyed.  It certainly had a good share of mumblechatter and, in my book, that means things are good.

Now that I’m going to retire, here’s each question & it’s associated exercise, plus a few thoughts/comments:

  • Hand Release Merkins:  What’s the Mission Statement of F3?   To plant, grow, and serve men’s workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.  Note:  No one got this word for word, but a few dudes were close to it.
  • Burpees:  5 Core Principles:  Always outside, always free, open to all men, ends in COT, Peer led
  • Curls:  Name the 2 founders:  Dreed/OBT
  • Squats:  Date F3 was founded:  1/1/11
  • Sprint:  Date F3Foothills founded:  4/5/14
  • Curls/Bear Crawls:  Name the 2nd oldest AO in Foothills:  Expresso
  • Lunge Walk:  Name the oldest AO in Foothills:  Whipping Stick (most of yall got this one)
  • Burpees:  What do the 3 F’s stand for: Fitness, Fellowship, Faith (this was a dang layup.  If you missed this we would have revoked your membership)
  • Lunge Walk:  Name 4 of the 6 Foothills SLT members:  Goldberg, Short Sale, Belding, Sheamus, Kapowski, Medball (no one got this)
  • Curls:  Name the 2 of the first 3 Convergences:  Ram, Deliverance, Kong
  • Squats:  Name 4 0f the 6 Foothills Redwood Originals that are still active in F3:  HBC, Abraham, Markup, Taz, Dilbert, Cropduster
  • Burpees:  Name the cities that Foothills has an AO in:  Hickory, Bethleham, T’ville, Conover, Granite, Hildebran, Mt. View, Lenoir, Valdese, Rutherford College, Newton (I gave a lot of slack on this one)
  • Burpees: Foothills 1st Nantan: Taz.  (I don’t even think that the dudes at Star got this one.  Abraham was our 1st 1st F Q.)
  • Lunge Walk:  F3 Nation President:  Dark Helmet (50/50 on this one)
  • Curls:  F3 Nation Q of Culture:  Hello Kitty
  • HR Merkins:  F3 Nation Nantan:  Slaughter
  • HR Merkins:  Name 2 books that Dredd has written:  Freed to Lead/Q Source (buy these will ya?  At least one dude claims to have it in his Amazon Shopping Cart, but hasn’t hit the final button to buy it…..come on dude, lessgo)
  • Lunge Walk:  Define Sua Sponte leadership:  latin for Of His Own Accord (Zeros on this one across the board)
  • Burpees:  F3 Foothills nantan:  Medball (most of yall got this one)
  • HR Merkins:  what does M stand for?  the MOST important person in your life.  (Mass confusion w/ this one.  It doesn’t have to be your wife.  What if you’re still in high school?  What if you’re single?  Come on dudes)
  •  Squats:  What does Q stand for?  Qresaders.  That’s what the workout leaders were called in the Campos workout group that Dredd/OBT started F3 from.
  • Curls:  Define Shield Lock:  a group of dudes that are an accountability group for you.  Someone you lock shields with would have also been acceptable.
  • Squats:  Where was the 1st F3 workout held:  AG Middle School (zeros for this one)
  • HR Merkins:  What do we call a dude that works out alone: Sad Clown
  • Lunge Walk:  What do we call a dude that’s over 50:  Respect
  • Squats:  How did _______ (someone at the workout) get his name?  Only the LNR got this wrong, hence your D.  Come on dudes, you need to know each other better.  That’s an instant easy way to start a conversation.  IE:  Hey Terd Sniffer, how’d you get your name?  And the conversation goes from there.

More thoughts:  Don’t feel bad for not knowing some of these questions.  If they were all easy, then the workout would have suffered so some were added to ensure that you’d get them wrong.  But some of these were layups, or at least I thought that they would be.  The belly aching from some (esp. at Evening Wood & Star) was unreal.  Dudes were calling their attorneys during the workout b/c they were so convinced that Abe was our 1st nantan.  Newsflash:  he wasn’t.  Ever.  Lesson Learned from this quiz:  Don’t sweat me, if there’s one thing i know, it’s my F3 history so hush up and do your burpees.

Suggestions on how to get more of these correct:  hop on Q Source, read Freed to Lead, read Q Source, listen to at least one of the 3 or more podcasts available, attend any 2nd or 3rd F event, sign up for Growruck, get on Slack, check the Twitters (only follow F3 dudes, the rest of Twitter is horrible – except for Super 70s Sports.  That guy cracks me up).  The main takeaway that I’d love for you to see is that F3 is more than a workout.  If you only post to a workout, you’re only participating in 33% of we have to offer.  Come on in, the water is fine.

Despite their horrific test skills and overall grade, it was still a fun time w/ the dudes in Lenoir.  They are a tight knit group of guys and it’s good to see them on occasion.  Yall should come on down for convergence, T’ville’s new AO this week, etc.

Thanks to Medball for joining.  Hey Site Q’s, put him on the Q schedule, will ya?

Out.
