QIC:  Spokes
PAX:  Bismarck, Twin, Friar, PBR, Snips, Spokes (QIC)
  Date:  03/26/21
  AO:  Infinity

It was a humid 58 degrees after T-storms overnight.  The greenway was a mess of puddles and the Q’s plans to take the PAX on the Zack’s Fork Trail were squashed by the amount of rain within the past 24 hours…so we modify…

Warm Up – Classic track stretches (because side straddle hops have become about as much enjoyment to the PAX as running hills)

  •  Left Foot over Right Foot and touch your toes…flapjack
  • Legs spread and reach deep under your legs
  • Same position and lean right then left
  • Stretch arms straight up and arch back
  • Same position and lean right then left

The Thang

Running route took us on the following path:  Powell, Ridgewood, Wilmore, Powell, Wellington, Coventry, Covington, Powell – Every hill was a Right turn

We stopped along the route to perform a total of 80 Merkins with the first stop performing 5 then increase by 5 and add in overhead hand raises.

3.35 miles with 308 feet of elevation gain

COT

The car that attempted to jump the speed table on Powell Rd. just led right into my planned COT.  Many times we drive into a parking lot and have to maneuver over a speed bump or speed table.  The purpose of those are to slow vehicle traffic to create a safe area in that portion of the parking lot or road.  In fact there is actually a DOT regulated design on these (MUTCD – The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highway) that is supposed to place design elements for safe passage.  In some cases the speed bump/table may be too rough (which is out of the design code) or not allow an emergency vehicle to pass.  It creates a hindrance which was unintended.  Many times in our lives we create stumbling blocks or hindrance to others.  What is our shadow a reflection of?  Do people see Christ in us?  This could be unintended by just being present and others view us from a distance and pass judgement on the shadow they see.  Romans 14:13 is a great reminder to not being that stumbling block to others.  “13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.”  So, let’s be a reflection of Christ today in our homes, work and play.
