Another not so cold morning today as I arrived there was Bismarck’s car and soon Friar followed as well as Spokes who was doing a prerun before the run. Then to make our day we saw a white van pull up and much to our surprise Old School popped out ready to join us after a lengthy absence/recovery from F3. Need I say getting up at 4:15 this morning was totally worth it to hang out with old school. We started a mosey with him and Bismarck and old school took off for the 3 miler perspective. The rest of us took off down Harper to the Greenway. The Greenway is always adventurous early morning and today we heard voices as we started on it. Didn’t see them but heard them. From there to the library and then the challenge of crossing 321 traffic to go up Hospital.l Ave. At that point your q decided his sore knee wasn’t ready for The Hill of Sharon and split off for an early exit while Friar and Spokes showed Sharon who was still king of the hill. From there it was a coast for them down Norwood up Mulberry to the AO.
the word of the day was a marine biology lesson from Bob Goff. In Canada the sea lions look like they are holding hand with each other. The reason they do this, so no one drifts away. What a message for us as men of F3 to not let anyone drift away but more importantly realize the need we have for community to do something outrageous with our lives. Last but not least ask deep questions to our community to get to know them not the standard what’s your name and how are you today but dig much deeper. When we dig deeper we can help keep our brothers or ourselves from drifting away.
