QIC:  Spokes
  PAX:  Bismarck, Swinger, Twin, PBR
  Date:  01/28/21
  AO:  Prison Break

The pre-blast went out the eve before the workout.  I had four HC’s and knew Friar & Rx were no shows the rest of the week and Babyface had some other AO to go grace his presence (don’t forget your raisn’ now Babyface).  Twin had EH’d PAX by name and none of them bit on Slack.  I roll into the AO about 0513 after running an errand, the PAX didn’t know the game afoot.  Bismarck, Swinger and PBR were all bundled up as cold wind gusts filled the AO and we were ready to get started  So we start the warmup at o515 after the standard disclaimer is shared by YHC.

Warmup (IC)

SSH’s, Humpies, Imperial Storm Troopers, Butt Kickers, High Knees

No Twin present and we started the Mosey up West Ave towards the square.  Unbeknownst to the Q, a Slack message had been sent he was on the way but a bit tardy for the party.

Stopping at the square we hear the roar of the Twin mobile (someone called it the ozone killer) as it comes to a stop at the traffic light in front of us.   On my command, we run to give Twin “H O P E” (the lighted sign) that we are right here and waiting on him.  He parks in front of the old Lawyer Lawyer office (had to be there, sorry) as I get started telling the PAX to hit their six.  We did some Flutters, RBC’s, Wheezy Jefferson’s (Twin joined in at this point).  Recovered and moved to the park benches for some Dips and Derkins.   All of this was in cadence, of course.

Mosey down West Ave to Mulberry then into the municipal parking lot that is between two buildings (a bit of a concrete/asphalt cage).  YHC stopped and retrieved (recall the errand earlier) three playground balls from under some stairs.  It’s time for some good ol’ fashion Dodgeball.  The perimeters were set and the ground rules of a free-for-all main event was set in motion.  If you got hit by a ball, drop and do 10 Burpees and then respawn.  This continued for a number of rounds and then changed to Merkins for getting hit by a ball.  The balls were returned under the stairs and the workout continued.

Mosey (long route to allow the wounds to heal) to Kirkwood St. parking lot of the Methodist church.  OYO-Bear crawl to curb, run to bottom of stairs at church do 10 squats, run to the top of the stairs at the breezeway and do 10 LBC’s.  Run to the front of the church and go/down stairs and then return to the starting point and plank for the six.  Once everyone returned we remained in Plank and did some Peter Parkers IC. Rinse and Repeat but we did Parker Peters and Pickle Pounders IC to close out this portion of the workout.

Mosey down Church St.  At the intersection of West Ave an Indian Run commenced with the PAX in the rear performing 10 Squats.  The Indian Run followed Church to College back to the AO on Willow St and its 0600!

COT

Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. – Where/Who do we place our trust?  We trust the outcome of many things each day from money deposited into your bank should also be available for a withdrawal to something as simple as placing your feet on the ground to stand up and remain standing.  We need to place our Trust in the Lord with ALL of our heart and not try to step in to alter what God has planned for us.

Count off/Name-o-rama

Prayers – Unspoken request from a PAX

Moleskin

  • Glad we did the disclaimer as Twin took out PBR’s face with a ball and Swinger decided that the best way to get Bismarck (who normally carried around two balls while the rest of us were doing Burpees) out is to take his legs out from under him.
  • Let it be known if you EH someone on Slack to join you at a workout and then you don’t, Swinger will make it known that you should’ve EH’d yo-self.
  • While late, Twin posted and that’s what counts…
  • If we had more PAX, I had the Frisbee and Ultimate was going to be played…don’t fartsack and miss an upcoming Spokes Q so we can enjoy some Ultimate Frisbee streetstyle.

Spokes Out!
