Weather: Humid. That nasty post-rain stickiness that you can’t escape.
Warmups….pre-runners slowly making their way to the circle. Reminder: F3 starts at 5:30
Thang:
10 merkins/6 squat jumps/4 burpees
Do 1 round, every minute on the minute for 10 minutes.
Sweating profusely already
Mosey to the front of the church, line up single file facing busy road: Monkey Humpers IC x 20
Continue mosey through the circle drive that goes through the graveyard, stop behind one of the buildings there. Next exercise: lunge walk from one end of the parking lot to the other. Plank for the six. Next exercise: lunge walk from back parking lot to the front. Next: lunge walk across the front of the building. Next: lunge walk back to where we started. CE: Hey Kleenex, how do you eat an elephant? K: One bite at a time. CE: Exactly. If I told you to lunge walk around the entire building, most of you would have told me to kick rocks and/or pound sand. It sounds so much easier when we split it up into 4 exercises, doesn’t it?
Next, parter up. P1 runs in one direction around the church, P2 goes in the opposite direction. When you meet up, gimme 5 Imperial Walker Squats and 10 partner derkins. This meet up happens 2x per lap, do 3 laps.
Crawl bear from bottom to the top of the parking lot, plank for the six.
One merkin per parking space and back.
One minute left: American Hammers IC
Done.
Welcome Biscuit’s 2.0’s: Buttermilk and Red Eye.
ETC:
- 192 merkins if you’re keeping track of those for any reason
- 4 dudes still hanging in there for 2020 Parade of Horribles: Kapowski, Swanson, Goldberg, and CE. Proud of yall.
- See the three of you at Evening Wood
- POH is working pretty good. We had pax from Conover, the Mount, Hickory, and Granite post. Plus tomorrow there’s a Guest Q at Howitzer that hasn’t been there since 1932. I think we’re getting the hang of this thing.
- Get out of your rut and go see another AO, you might also learn something
- Lil Biscuits (now known as Buttermilk) was flat out flying during the merkin/parking space portion of the workout. No idea how dads can get 2.0’s to post with them. Impressive. Mine would just write me off with a “Ok Boomer” comment.
- WOD was about accountability. The Low Hanging Part of Accountability is making sure that your Shield Lock/Accountability Partner is posting to workouts and staying fit. The harder part of accountability is the rest of the stuff. We all struggle with something that’s keeping you from accelerating as a HIM. Your partner can’t hold you accountable for the other parts of your life if they don’t know what you struggle with (your Jester). Open up to your partner and ask them to hold you to a higher standard. Grow with each other. This will not only help you to grow as a man, but you’ll be helping your partner grow as well.
- The old saying Loose Lips Sink Ships is BS. Talk. Open up. Grow up. Man up.
- 828-324-4413 if you need anything/want someone to talk to.
- Great to see you men this am.
