QIC:  Fuse

Warmup, botched it. Do what you want.

Ran to Hickory High Hill, start at the top, 20 merkins, run to the bottom, 20 merkins, run to the top 20 merkins… repeat until you hit 200 merkins, conveane at the top of the hill in the Hickory High parking lot.

Apparently I looked like I was having a stroke… If you cant Q it, don’t do it… I did it… bareley.

Lunge walk all the way across the parking lot to the building. That ish was far. It’s a good lesson in perseverance.

Next we wall squat, do some boxer moves that really don’t do anything for you physically.

Afterwards we jog(soft J) back to the flag where Phlegm leads us in a glorious 10-count round of Asheville abs.

Fin.

WOD:

“The problem is that white people see racism as conscious hate, when racism is bigger than that. Racism is a complex system of social and political levers and pulleys set up generations ago to continue working on the behalf of whites at other people’s expense, whether whites know/like it or not. Racism is an insidious cultural disease. It is so insidious that it doesn’t care if you are a white person who likes black people; it’s still going to find a way to infect how you deal with people who don’t look like you. Yes, racism looks like hate, but hate is just one manifestation. Privilege is another. Access is another. Ignorance is another. Apathy is another. And so on. So while I agree with people who say no one is born racist, it remains a powerful system that we’re immediately born into. It’s like being born into air: you take it in as soon as you breathe. It’s not a cold that you can get over. There is no anti-racist certification class. It’s a set of socioeconomic traps and cultural values that are fired up every time we interact with the world. It is a thing you have to keep scooping out of the boat of your life to keep from drowning in it. I know it’s hard work, but it’s the price you pay for owning everything.” -Scott Woods

We’re not inherently racist, however, we are part of a system that was built in racism. Deeds that keep people of color out of certain neighborhoods, school funding tied to property values, criminalization of certain drugs, the list goes on. It’s not enough to not be racist, I don’t dont think any of us are, but it’s up to us to acknowlege and understand what’s happening. Then we can make a plan.

Moleskin:

I cussed during a prayer… my B.

Sunshine returned after several years, happy to have you back, brother.

Lots of guys, including myself feeling like a soup sandwhich this morning. You can’t fake fitness in the heat and humidity.

I heard lots of toot’n today. I don’t even think it was coming from Cuz or Pump.

I’m grateful for all my gloomy brothers… err, brother’s in the gloom.
