Some weeks ago, YHC was the Q on my birthday. It has bugged me since then that I held a block party with the guys, but I didn’t include any music. What kind of party doesn’t have music? (Or beer, for that matter, but that’s for another time.) When swinger sent the call for a substi-Q, I accepted immediately.

I wanted to dance!

Cannonball and I arrived at 5:12, time enough to put on some gloves and watch Swinger plant the shovel flag. Bismarck was in his normal stretch, Audit and PBR waiting nearby. Everyone was so excited to see my bluetooth speaker.

We got right to work, who needs a warmup when Angus and Malcom will get our hearts pumping?

The thang:

Mosey around the white building, pick up a block on the way back

Perhaps next time I’ll bring helmets for this one, the blocks were getting pretty heavy overhead, and they say “up all night” about a hundred times near the end

The pax maybe hoped that, even though they could see the stairwell, maybe we wouldn’t use it. Their hopes were dashed.

The pax were getting loopy by this point. Recommendations of a lighter and or/adult substances were made. Did you know that this song is, like, a hundred minutes long? But sill I needed one last stairs, Britney helped us up that one. btw, that’s not my censorship, that’s the name of the song on itunes

You know what this is…

Somehow traffic in Lenoir was wild. We saw at least three cars! Thanks to Swinger and PBR for saving Cannonball from becoming a pancake.

Ulysses–Tennyson

It may be that the gulfs will wash us down:

It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,

And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.

Tho’ much is taken, much abides; and tho’

We are not now that strength which in old days

Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;

One equal temper of heroic hearts,

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will

To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

You’re never too old to take a risk. Life doesn’t pass you by until you let it.

@Friar, we of course missed you, but we’re all secretly glad you weren’t here to make us look bad on all the shoulder work.
