There is no greater love than to lay down ones life for another, & that mindset is so backwards of todays “Whats Best For Me” mentality. Therefore, I thought that it would only be fitting for todays workout to be the Old Er….backwards. But it didn’t stop there! To add to the workout misery, once you arrived at the “typical starting point” of the first exercises (MERKINS & LBC’s) you then ran to the bottom of Hospital Hill for 5 Burpees & ran back up Hospital Hill & back to the flag to start another lap. It was an absolute blast!

Once time had expired, we circled back up to dwell on the following quote from George S. Patton: “It is foolish & wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God such men lived.”

With that in mind, I can’t help but to think about the times of communion where I’ve wrestled with the thought of feeling complete joy & gratefulness for Jesus’ sacrifice for us, but also the sympathy/reverence for the price that He had to pay.

I hope that you were able to enjoy your Memorial Day with a healthy balance of respect for the price that was paid for you to be able to celebrate freely!
