We started off with our COT – and YHC read today’s devotion from his new “Jesus Calling” devotional. I highly recommend this book that is written from the perspective that Jesus is speaking directly to the reader. The devos are short and meaningful and they reference 3 Bible verses that are relevant to the devo.
It was a “Quite Chilly” 27 degrees at 5:15 am Wednesday morning for SlingBlade. 5 of us rode in for a Run over the River and Thru the Woods. Ok, there was no river, but it was a BIG pond and there’s a brand-spanking new bridge crossing Mill Pond. This morning we ran down Falls Avenue and for the first time over this new “safe” bridge, up the long hill to the entrance to Granada Farms, down Meandering Way, across the top of the dam, then up dam road and back up Falls Avenue to our AO.
Even though it was well below freezing, we were dressed for the occasion and 3 of the men ran like gazelles, one of the men ran like a fast turtle and one man stayed with the turtle. No names will be mentioned here or else the Q will be incriminated.
It was learned that Hat Trick was training for his FIRST actual marathon which will be in Wilmington in March. He has trained for 2 other marathons but got sick and was unable to participate in them.
Band Camp was late, but what the heck – we were late in getting started anyway.
Banjo had a cool hoodie on that his daughter got him as a gift – I think he said a year or so ago.
Castaway had a cool new Garmin GPS watch on which was getting used for the first time!
Cropduster ran like a fast turtle. Oh, wait – did I say that out loud?? Well at least it was faster that before.
It was a hilly and fun route – who in the F3Nation can say they ran across a dam this morning? 5 from Granite Falls can!
Cropduster out!
