Warmup were as normal, included some SSH, ATT, Good Mornings, Hump’s, then some IST, Hillbillies, and Uncle Carls just for good measure…1 lap around the PL.
2 things YHC enjoys….Banana Pudding and Baseball. If i could incorporate the two of them, i may find Heavenly Bliss….Anyway nobody showed up with a nice bowl the delicacy that i call Gods Nectar, so we enjoyed the second best thing Baseball. That’s correct, college baseball is in full swing and also the Boys of Summer are in spring training…You can just smell the hotdogs and pine tar now cant you….Glorious American Sport that makes this 48 yr old feel like 13 again. Everytime i hear the crack of a bat or the sound of an umpire roping out a batter on 3 strikes…its just a great sport..
The Thang
Concept is simply, make a baseball park with Home, 1st, 2nd, 3rd. 90 feet apart.
Deck of cards to give the number of reps per inning.
Movements were , sprint to 1st base, merkins / mnt climbers by the card count from 2 cards
Lunge walk to 2nd base, Star Jumps / Squats by the card count from 2 cards
Karaoke run to 3r:d base, LBC / Flutter Kicks by the card count from 2 cards
Bear crawl home….. end of inning 1.
then , repeat for 9 innings….its wonderful / glorious pain. Mubblechatter was significant, especially when YHC kept dealing face cards in the first 4 innings…
finished up after the 9th inning and had to deal 1 last time to see if we can hit Blackjack 21 for extra innings, but YHC busted on 23. I remember the boys of Tville doing the same workout, and YHC hit on 21. I was threatened bodily harm by BRD….
Little time left so we completed some Boxcutters for good measure….
Some of the best times i can remember have happened around a ballpark…Actually met my wife a Crawdads stadium, just didn’t realize it at the time, took about 10 more years, but i owe a debt to the Diamond
