QIC:  Powder

It has been a minute since I have been to the great AO that is called ER. I don’t know if it has been not wanting to get up on Mondays or the reason that I tell myself “my legs are tired after doing a long run Sunday afternoon”. Regardless those are both bad excuses and I realized this morning I have missed the concrete beast.

Warm up: SSH, Humpies, Windmill, Little Baby Arm Circles….. One Lap of Old ER

The Thing: Mosey to the back of the parking deck for a Burpee Ladder. Start with 2 going up by 2 each time running up backwards to the wall in between reps. Mosey up the stairs to the top of the concrete beast.

There was not much mumble chatter at this point so I thought we might need a few mins of Mary before starting our next exercises. WWII situps, Flutter Kicks, RBCs into LBCs (All IC x15)

PAX split up into 2 groups of three for a relay race. P1 runs down a flight of stairs while P2 & P3 do the AMRAP exercise. Then P2 takes off while P1 & P3 continue to do the exercise. P3 takes off while P1 &P2 finish up.

First flight- Imperial Storm Troopers. At this point the race is still very close, Flight 2- Squats.

Everyone is out of breath so lets take break and have a seat on the wall to give our legs a few mins of rest. People’s Chair with Wonder Bra (IC X20).

3rd Flight of stairs- Merkins. 4th Flight of stairs Jane Fondas. Pace is really starting to slow for everyone, up and down those stairs as fast as you can is not a whole lot of fun.

Finish with just enough time to do a round of Asheville Abs.

WOD: Do not skip to the end of the Christmas story. There are too many things we just want to rush through and not take the time to appreciate. The Christmas story and this time of year is not one of them.

 

Quick Moleskin:

-Congratulations to Pump and his M on expecting a new little 2.0

-Cuz Eddie tried to take off early on the relay race and I had to call him back… No “1st place b$@che$” for him today

-Phlegm had to take a call from a patient when his “on call duty” ended in 30 mins then had to head to the real ER. That is not how to start a Monday morning

-Twig scared Cuz because apparently he was so ninja like Cuz never saw him in his truck

-Ferdinand was telling a story and just dropped in that he was lifting weights doing 275 incline, which made me feel super strong as I was doing my AMRAP Merkins on my knees. So I had to tell him that was ok and all but I heard Squints did 400.

-YHC wore too many layers…. Surprise Surprise
