QIC:  Cousin Eddie

That title has literally nothing to do with anything by the way. #randomthoughts

Route:

run to the Hky Greenway via Lake Road, do an exercise or two w/ the fellas at OG, and head home.

Total just a short hair over 6 miles.

Did WOD, announcements, etc. before we left

Bonus Material:

  • On the way to OG, I managed to stay w/ the pack for 2 miles.  It was the most fun 2 miles I’ve run in a really long time.
  • We talked.  We laughed.  I called Fuse a Soup Sandwich.  He called me an Asswipe.  It was glorious.
  • Then, as they usually do, the pack started to pull ahead of me.  But nothing short of a miracle happened:  my boy Powder stayed back with me.  It was magical.  Unfortunately by then, I was not capable of speaking.
  • Strava shows that I did that 2nd mile below 8:00/mile.  This is way too fast for me and Powder happily reminded me that I’d be the Soup Sandwich on the way back from OG.
    • He was correct.
  • Even some of the fastholes turned around and came back for the six (me).
  • This reminded me that running can be enjoyable.  It was much needed and much appreciated.
  • Leaving OG was another story and I promptly got left in the dust.
  • It was fun while it lasted.
  • Tried a shortcut through that new’ish development instead of going up the hill at Creekside apartments.  I think it did cut out a bit of the run, but there’s still a hill over there.
  •   I don’t think that I’ll ever not be impressed at the speed of some of our runners.  How in the hell do they do it?  Yall keep it up, cause it’s pretty awesome.
