On Q for Stargate is always a pleasure. So, you first have to pull up Google Earth and zoom out of the center of Lenoir and visualize where you can take the PAX for a good 5 mile route. As I did this I saw how I could incorporate Sharon Ave. hill along with the gradual climb on 321 from Krispy Kreme to Bo’s. So let’s do this.
We left the AO heading northeast on Harper Ave. and followed to Pennton Ave where we took a left and then took a right to hit the Lenoir Greenway. Fortunately the urban campers were not present so the mumble chatter could remain in tact. We turned left up the dreaded Library Hill, however Friar left us at the Day’s Inn and said he would meet us at the Library. I’m betting he ran by the windows of Workout Anytime to check out the reflection of his run stride and the tone of his leg muscles…need I digress.
We went across 321 on Hospital Ave. and then turned right on Sharon Ave. Once at the top of the hill we got a nice reprieve as we turned right going downhill on Woodsway Ln. and the left into the Catholic church to cut over to 321 at Krispy Kreme.
The PAX then followed the sidewalk up to Bo’s and then turned left on Finley Ave. Following Finley back to Main St. and then onto Ashe and left on Boundary got us 5.3 miles.
I had created a shorter 3 mile route for those that say they would post but they can’t run 5 miles…guess they are still in the fartsack as they never arrived. Oh well, I will try again next time.
At any rate it was a great time with temps in the mid-60’s but still a bit humid. We talked about Philippians 3 where Paul told the church at Philippi about how he had the pedigree and all the notoriety and a lot to lose. However once Christ came into his life he realized how much he actually gained and in comparison of his loss it was much greater than anything he had. Do we consider how great Christ is in our lives?
See you next time in the gloom…Aye!
