Back to Back Q’s!?! – Prison Break on Tuesday and Stargate on Wednesday. I posted the route on Social media and the mumble chatter began…’I think you left out a couple of hills…’, ‘why Spokes? All hills and through the ghetto…’. I even quipped that if the consensus was too much for F3 Lenoir then we would do it in reverse (not backwards as some would think). However as I arrived at 5:14 there was no need to cede a consensus change in route. Our COT was from Judges 4:14 where the prophetess Deborah shares wisdom from God to Barak as he sees the 900 Chariots of Sisera coming toward him and he has 10,000 troops standing with him. “Up! For this is the day in which the Lord has given Sisera into your hand. Does not the Lord go out before you?” How many times men do we go before the Lord and do things on our own? No matter what we face, God is with us and we need to get ‘Up!’ and allow him to lead.
The Thang
Leave Stargate AO and remain on Harper Avenue (down hill) and turn left on Penton Ave. Follow until reaching the entrance to the Lenoir Greenway. Remain on the Greenway (didn’t have to run quietly by the urban campers as they weren’t there) until reaching the Library Hill (Hill #1). Follow to the top of the hill and turn left and run the outer edge of the Library parking lot. Turn left on Hospital Ave. and then go across 321 and continue on Hospital Ave. (Hill #2). Turn right onto Sharon Ave. for a slight incline that leads to a super steep section (Hill #3) before getting to Finley Ave. Turn left onto Finley Ave. Turn left onto Main St. and follow to Ashe Ave. Turn right on Church St. (Hill #4) and follow the block to Boundary where you turn right onto Ashe Ave. (legs/lungs are enjoying the downhill). Turn left onto Willow and then right onto West Ave. Follow to merge onto Harper Ave. and then turn left on Beall St. and then left on College Ave. Follow College Ave. to Boundary and then right on Harper back to Stargate AO. 312 feet of Elevation Gain
Moleskin…Stargate had 5 PAX which is awesome and beat Tuesday’s Prison Break…what will occur at a Wile E Q on Thursday? I guess we will wait and see.
