YHC has not run much lately, so getting  back ‘up to speed’ at Slingblade has been tough.  But YHC had Q today, so not posting was out of the question.  I had heard a rumor that 1 other should be there also, and with school cancelling, I really expected to see both of the ‘Running Spartans’.  But the AO was empty when I arrived.  Just me, the white stuff falling and the shovel flag.

Suddenly there was a ding on my phone about Band Camp running late and in pulled a pickup and a Subaru.  There would be a decent complement of participants for the run after all.  After BC arrived, we conducted the COT first (of course).

Leviticus 17:10-11
10 “‘I will set my face against any Israelite or any foreigner residing among them who eats blood, and I will cut them off from the people. 11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.

John 19:33-34
33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.

Hebrews 13:11-12
11 The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp. 12 And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood.

Then we sang 4 verses of “There’s Pow’r in the Blood”, ok not really, but I did quote the song.  (I hear Tumbleweed can sing, so maybe next time I will consider us singing).

We Covered a couple of prayer requests (Kelly Clark and Josh -area homeless man), we announced about the Muck Ruck this Saturday (300 meeting downtown @6:30) and about GF’s hosting the Hky area convergence on 2/24 in GF.  Then YHC prayed us out.  And this is the rout we took…..

Falls Ave, Archer, Dudley Ave, School St, Highland, Pinewood, Montclair, Allen Ln, Highland, W. Highland, Granite Creek Dr, W. Highland, Valley, Grandview, Park, Birch, Elgin, Lakeside, N Main, Fairview, Spring, Dudly to Flag.  Total was 5.11 miles.  Couple of us peeled off for 3.8 mil due to (YHC’s) aching knee.  Thanks to Band Camp for leaving no man behind!

My first snow run and the same for Band Camp, although he is a far more accomplished runner.  Although the snow deepened as we ran, it never topped my shoes, so it was all good.
