QIC:  Peaches

Better late than never, I always say… Since I am quite delinquent in my BB from Monday’s ER workout, here is a brief overview of what went down.

Well… Before I begin, I think it’s necessary to give a shoutout to Crop Daddy for his inspiration in doing a theme Q. Given that the Solar Eclipse was the same day as my Q, I found it quite fitting to make the exercises match such a monumental event – thus the ode. And cred goes to Jordache, as I now apparently like to incorporate burpees to my workouts.

So, without further delay, here’s how Monday in the gloom went down:

Oh, one more thing…. Mumblechatter was at a definite minimum. As always, I pride myself on that, whether it’s related to PAX being tired from lack of sleep or tired from the workout. Either way, I count that as a win. Especially when the chatter from Cousin Eddie is basically non-existent.

The Warm Up

The usual: SSH, ATT, Windmills, and Humpies (all IC x 15)

The Thang:

Mosey to the stairs behind the ER parking deck.

Partner up.

P1: Bunny hop up the entire stairwell (hitting each step). At the top, do 30 squats.

P2: Burpees until P1 returns.

Flip flop until each team hit 150 burpees (side note – originally my winky had 100 burpees, but I made the audible to do 150. You’re welcome. I helped you get all get better).

Next mosey to the bottom of the parking deck.

Since the Eclipse was just a mere hours away, I felt I would be doing our PAX a service by giving them ideas of where to watch this astrological phenomenon. So, the top of the ER parking deck seemed like a good spot. But like all good astronauts, you had to train to get there.

So, everyone started at the bottom of the parking deck and ran up the ramp then did 20 Blast Off Pushups (taken from the Metaconda Workout – if you’re looking for a great HIIT workout do this exercise! http://www.menshealth.com/fitness/the-metaconda-workout). After that run to the top of the next ramp and do 20 Blast Off Squats (aka – Jump Squats). Rotate between these exercises all the way to the top. Once at the top, I figured it would be fitting to pay our respect to the moon. Thus, we completed 50 “Dark Sides of the Moon” (aka – Monkey Humpers).

After a quick 10 count, we moseyed to the bottom of Cemetery Hill (the next best location to watch the Eclipse).

At the bottom of the hill we did 20 “Space Rovers” (aka – Mountain Climbers). Then we sprinted to the middle of the hill (3rd St) and did 20 “Blast Off Squats”. Then we sprinted to the top of the hill (4th St) and did 20 Star Jumps. Finally we ran all the way back down the hill and returned to the AO. PAX planked and/or did LBC’s for the 6.

And… we finished with 15 burpees just because.

WOD:

Genesis 1 – If you want to know what exactly we talked about let’s talk! I’d love to tell ya!

As always, it was a pleasure to be with you all!

– Peaches
