Assuming that the Christmas Party is held as currently tentatively scheduled on 12/5, you have 7 weeks to do some CSAUP stuff.  As I’m typing this, 6 dudes are getting their 0.5 point for doing the Halloween Hobble.  Couple more dudes will get 1.5 points next weekend for doing Quest for the Crest 50K.  If all goes as planned, that will put my man HBC in the overall lead by a relatively slim 0.4 point margin with 6.6 points total.  Doughboy is making a late season run and should finish up with 3.5 points this weekend, which will be good enough for 4th place.  I expect a few other dudes to finish these next 7 weeks with some strong work.  And YHC ain’t going out like no punk bitch either.

Here’s your reminder for free options to get a 0.5 point:

And here’s another opportunity for some point action.  Lots of points too.  Have you heard of this thing called 30 Hours of Joy?  If not, crawl out from under that rock you’ve been living in and listen up.  The Conover pax are hosting this CSAUP in Catawba on 10/23 – 25 and there are tons of mileage options for you.  Rumor has it that there are two dudes that are gunning for 50 miles.  Another dude told me he’s shooing for 40.  Want to do a 50K while there?  Full Marathon?  1/2 Marathon?  5K…ok, don’t do a 5K unless you just want a pat on the back and a giant Red X beside your name.  Ruckers can join in.  Want to just volunteer to make this weekend run smoother?  It might get you 0.5 pt…maybe I can’t guarantee that.

Here goes.  Mileage must be tracked on Strava, Garmin, etc.  If you’re just a sidewalk chalk guy, you better have someone vauche for you:

100 – 50 Miles:  2 points*

31.06 – 49 Miles:  1.5 points*

Marathon (26.2 Miles): 1 point*

1/2 Marathon (13.2 Miles):  0.5 point*

*Reminder that this is not just an event that our Conover boys are doing for the fun of it.  It’s a fundraiser for a great cause.  So with that in mind, in addition to running the distance you want, you must also provide a $50 minimum donation to qualify for your points.  Short on cash?  Let me know and we can discuss….we will not let that factor in to your decision to participate.

“Hey CSAUP Committee, can I run a 1/2 marathon, take a nap, and run a 50K for 2 points total?”

Sure you can.  2 point maximum for the weekend though, just don’t you go dying on me.

Haters?  Go ahead and hate.  Or just HC for 30 Hours of Joy and get you some.
